I kind of lost track of how many of these content creators have given me, “I don’t want to be on this world anymore” vibes, but SunnyV2 just posted another one:
TL;DW: A TikTok user starts posting videos of herself dipping food in what looks like Pepto Bismal. She calls it Pink Sauce and is a food product she created which will soon go on sale. Viewers ask if it’s FDA approved and she says it doesn’t have to be because it’s not a medication. Consumers proceed to become violently ill. Rather than the creator going bankrupt it starts getting sold at Walmart (after some changes are made). It fails at Walmart and the creator goes broke anyway.

Between that and partnering up with perpetual f*** up and professional scammer Logan Paul is certainly not endearing Mr. Beast to anyone this week.

Making videos about this Mr. Beast guy's problems is a whole industry in an of itself.

SunnyV2 goes after one of YouTube’s Big Kahunas in his new video, CocoMelon:
It’s not altogether new, but also kind of terrifying. Companies have been using test audiences and focusing on what stimulates people for way longer than I’ve been alive. But going by this video CocoMelon is ruthlessly efficient in exploiting entertainment as a stimulant. As someone who had parents who would plunk me down in front of David the Gnome for hours while they did whatever, I definitely feel this one.

This just reiterates my original post.
Damn the guys just started getting random hate for no reason other than being popular. Guys claiming not to be jealous or hater just hating and being jealous because they think someone doesn’t deserve the success. Then he says he has dreams of other things and people hating on him for wanting to do other things and not uploading. Other’s mad at him for doing the same thing and not evolving.
Internet Fame sounds awful.

Internet Fame sounds awful. I think it's a mixture of things. The current landscape justifies a lot of toxicity, even when criticism is justified and warranted, and anonymity allows people to go overboard with it. I also think it's an inherent risk of making yourself the product. Even if you aren't making videos about your life, people who put themselves on camera build a relationship with the audience they don't intend. I don't want to say parasocial (I think it gets thrown around too much), but there's definitely an entitlement some people feel towards what's usually free entertainment.

Jack Doherty (an idiot "prank YouTuber" mostly known for harassing people and then having his bodyguard step in to defend him) did a stream yesterday where he was texting while driving, speeding in the rain, and then crashed his car, and he was more bothered about filming the aftermath and his wrecked McLaren than his injured cameraman or anyone else around.

I don't want to say parasocial (I think it gets thrown around too much), but there's definitely an entitlement some people feel towards what's usually free entertainment. To go along with that having no end game in mind along with no discipline and media training, is just a downfall cocktail. For instance, with any endeavor it’s good to have a set goal in mind. So let’s take $8 million as an arbitrary number for an end game. $8 million properly saved and invested is more than anyone realistically needs to live comfortably for the rest of their life even if they retire in their 20s. But addiction to that money and fame is real, which is where the lack of discipline hurts them. Add to that a lack of media training along with the toxicity you mentioned and the chances to say/do something stupid is compounded. As such rather than leaving YouTube with $8 million in the bank, some get further and further from it (including some who previously surpassed $8 million).

I had only barely heard of Jack Doherty before this, and after seeing this video, I could tell the kid was a big fat idiot just based on his haircut.

damn, nikoavacado was swerving the audience Really made that Sunnyv2 video really dated Slightly disappointed that he came within an inch of making meaningful observations about drama Youtubers but pivoted into talking like a cartoon supervillain instead. Still, regardless of how much of his past behavior is genuine, to record a bunch of stuff in advance and drop 250 pounds in secret is pretty wild. and his entire social experiment made him a very wealthy man to boot.

So apparently there's a word/genre for a specific type of clout chasing clickbait youtube commentator channels who make their money off making videos about the downfall of other youtubers: Slop content

Dude's channel is pretty much exclusively clout-chasing clickbait slop content.

Especially when it's like Sunny and he's making videos complaining that a channel is irrelevant because it went "woke"
