Having come across their channels a number of times in recent years, they don't seem to offer any insight into the subjects of their videos they cover that hasn't already been done to death by a hundred other channels. LD's output in the last six months has almost exclusively "Look at this bootleg/ROM hack, isn't it crazy?" while THGM just churns out filler every few days. The Gaming Historian they are not. Unfortunately they're constantly suggested by youtube for me, despite not having looked at any of their output since the weepy manipulation video. Even before them, THGM's videos were like a bad wrestling promo by a failed indie wrestler on a failed console or a Streetfighter Rom hack with irritating mispronunciations and LDs felt like that same content rewritten by AI, voiced by someone doing an impression of THGM. That because it the same content. I can't find the video now but they been caught reusing the same scripts for each other video before. |

Ironically, SunnyV2 managed to disgrace himself by taking the mask off in the last few weeks with his take on Mr Beast of "A trans person existing in the crew is the literal end of this channel"
Also, Illuminaughtii complained on twitter about a LegalEagle editor wanting to lift her editing style and that brought up a whole bunch of infighting shit on her team, which reminds me of the policy of "when committing shady shit, don't draw attention to yourself"

Seen a few videos of people commentating over it and playing horror movie music over someone with a Y chromosome talking about getting their nails done is just the dumbest shit in the world. |

I've been following drama over the Illuminaughtii channel and allegations going back and forth between the creator and people they used to work with. I'm not sure who to believe but the topics presented are interesting enough to watch if not like. The only cringy part is that there sometimes appears to be a personal grudge against certain companies/people. I unsubscribed but I have a feeling it won't be the first creator I unfollow. I hate the idea of people being complete douchebags, hiding behind their Youtube personas.

I wasn't aware there was any Illuminaughtii drama going on but guess I'll need to look into and form an opinion on that, not someone I watch super often but occasionally.

Reading this thread makes me all the more depressed about what happened to Lindsey Ellis. One of the best youtubers was bullied and harassed over a stupid tweet to the point where she had to quit while so many of these dipshits still have an audience.

Studios are expensive, and while Cinemassacre is helping him make a living I'd be very surprised if he was getting rich off it. To my mind the zero budget aesthetic is part of the charm. Why spend more money to fix something that isn't really broken? He may not be getting incredibly rich, but being one of the biggest YouTube content creators out there, I have no doubt he's making pretty good money. Good enough money to be able to afford to rent a cheap studio that allows him to film one location and possibly a green screen. And while it may seem charming, in his behind the scenes, he talks about the amount of work it takes in setting up the shots, to the point he's duct taping lights and cameras to his ceiling. So if that's the case, then yes, it *is* broken. He constantly complains about not having time, but again there are people (with less of a film education than he has) that are able to put out better looking content more often than he does. Obviously he's done this a very long time and I don't want him to burn out from doing too many videos, but he truly feels like someone who is afraid to move out of his comfort zone because he believes he can sustain his popularity through what he did 15 years ago. There are things he can do to improve his content, his time management and keep him stress free. For someone who has over 3 and a half million subscribers, there's no excuse why you should be struggling to film a scene on your own. |

The worst part is it being aided by drama youtubers who've been on the receiving end of the same treatment, had false allegations made by people with axes to grind and have come out the other side seemingly having learned nothing about the personal cost of this BS.

The stupidest thing is that the tweet wasn't even that bad. She said one thing reminded her of another show because of what she perceived as similar animation style and aesthetics. And people jumped through the most ridiculous of hoops to make her come off as this horrible person. It was so f***ing stupid. The Iiliminaughtii drama feels like yet another Lindsay Ellis\Contrapoints drama where the knives come out over bullpoop because it's easy to score internet points and build up your name by attacking people on your side than by going after those who use their platform to do genuine harm. The worst part is it being aided by drama youtubers who've been on the receiving end of the same treatment, had false allegations made by people with axes to grind and have come out the other side seemingly having learned nothing about the personal cost of this BS. I do think there's a lot of sock puppets pretending to be on their side but are just fanning the flames so the mob does their work for them. Using agents provocateur is a tried and true tactic of those people. |

The drama basically boils down to she accused Legal Eagle of plagiarizing something, quickly walked it back when given evidence to the contrary and apologized, and that led to people bringing up an old creator group she had with some people into pretty edgy, offensive humor like a decade ago who she no longer associates with anymore and bringing up things like, "She was demanding money from all of them," and, "She would scream at them," when the actual context of things was her having to hound them to pay their part on mutually shared costs and having a moment of lashing out during a meeting that she wasn't mentally up for but had her arm twisted into attending where they kept cutting her off. So yeah, it's basically a whole lot of nothing. |

As someone who creates content on notoriously litigious MLM types, she's someone who keeps receipts as that's kind of essential to fend off legal threats but evidence is less interesting than allegations and public airing of dirty laundry from people with nothing to lose. |

There was a period in time where it felt like every other day, a Friday Night Funkin mod came out, got extremely popular on Youtube... and then the creator was outed for being a piece of shit
I think it's calmed down by now but I have a friend who helped make Mods with someone who was exposed for that kind of behavior and for Mods that drew a community of younger and impressionable artists and devs it was a really shitty thing to see happen when it was.

When did Lindsay Ellis ever actually encourage that kind of behaviour? She regularly asked people in her vids not to harass people. Please site evidence of her encouraging people to troll and harass someone the way she was. |
