Slam Wrestling has confirmed, via his brother, that Jeff passed away at age 64. I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not familiar with his work. I know he bounced around Kansas City, UWF (Watts) and World Class, was probably featured most prominently in USWA where he won the tag belts with Jeff Jarrett a couple times, and was one of HBK’s knights.
He’s also the guy who ambushed Eddie Gilbert, allegedly hired by a promoter as payback for a no show.
While working as a bouncer at a strip club, he filled in on stage by painting himself green, calling himself the Incredible Hulk, and getting arrested for indecent exposure.
After his career ended, he did some time for bank robbery, and was open about his drug abuse, particularly cocaine. According to his brother, he had spent the last part of his life actively involved in his church’s program to provide warm clothing to people on the streets of Denver, so hopefully he found some peace and turned it around a bit.
The Crime in Sports podcast has an entertaining episode about him if you’re interested.

"Missouri Tiger" Jeff Gaylord had a great look, but was awkward af in the ring, and his promos caused second hand embarrassment. I mainly recall seeing him in the early days of the USWA, when the Memphis broadcast was showing a lot of footage from Dallas instead of their traditional studio show. RIP

He's one of those guys whose name I've heard a bunch (Or maybe just remembered it easily since it's a rather unusual name), but yeah, is heyday was in an era of wrestling I am not the most versed in. Good to hear he got into charity and seemed to embrace that.

Even if the name doesn’t immediately come to mind, you may recognize him as the Black Knight on Shawn Michaels’ 1993 Survivor Series team.

It's nice to hear that he tried to turn his life around. Never saw him wrestle, just know about his history.
Rest in peace, sir.

I remember seeing him in either World Class or Global on ESPN…may have been the USWA, or all of those I can’t remember. I thought that he would make it to the big time as he had a pretty decent build compared to most dudes out there looking like Eric Embry, but I guess his issues stopped him from going anywhere other than as one of the Survivor Series Knignts.
RIP.

RIP. I only knew of him from the b/w magazines. They always seemed to have a bunch of guys not in WCW or WWF and put them over. All these years later, I still wonder how the Knights were chosen. There was a big, medium and little size which I guess was the plan. Barry was under contract I guess. Greg came back for the rumble but just seems like such an odd spot to give to him. Jeff had never worked before for WWF, at least not in anything other than an enhancement role that I know of. Maybe a connection with Lawler and the Jarretts? I'm glad he got his life together even if closer to the end. I am currently putting together a book for amazon about the local homeless resource field with people I used to work with and several former clients had become volunteers themselves. Some made a positive impact but went back to addiction and one in particular wound up being a coordinator of his church winter shelter week before dying unexpectedly last year and that reminds me of Jeff.

He had an impressive physique, built in the lean Rick Rude mold, but couldn't talk and was very basic in the ring despite having decent agility.
