Great pop for this moment.
The moment being a father punching his son. Disgusting.
Seriously though I’ve really enjoyed the build for this.

I’m curious on how the match will go. Will Rey beat the shit out of him? Will he hesitate? Will Dom take advantage of Rey’s love?

Great moment, but Rey's delivery always makes me laugh. It felt like Vince wrote that for him to say word for word...it was so wooden.
That being said I'm sad the Hall of Fame isn't going to be an angle after all. Rhea and Dom crashing it and that being the final straw for Rey would have been great. Shitting all over a once in a lifetime celebration of his career, doesn't get much lower than that.
Oh well at least the match is official now.

I'm reminded of the Garth Brooks song The Night I Called The Old Man Out. Admittedly, I never cared for the song but in it there's reference to a son overstepping and the father whooping his butt and basically crying that he's doing it. There's plenty of aspects of it that are problematic but it sounds kinda like this. The son is being a complete shit (remember he assaulted Rey at Thanksgiving).
That said, while it could be framed as people cheering a father hitting his son, that's an oversimplification that ignores all the context. Yes the father hit his son...after months of being baited, run down and physically assaulted by this son. They were cheering someone finally putting a bastard in his place. The heel getting some comeuppance after months of getting away with shit.

You know, this may be a weird comparison, and I admit I wasn't watching at the time it happened: But Rey finally hitting Dominik sort of reminds me of when Virgil finally hit Ted DiBiase and broke away from him. A moment that built for a while (not a year like was said in the Smackdown thread, only since Clash at the Castle in September), one you had a good feeling was going to happen, and then a big pop when it finally does. The only difference is Rey's legacy is cemented already, while Virgil got a push but it didn't go as far as originally planned. Same with when Alex Riley attacked The Miz after months of abuse. Riley was getting huge pops for a year after that which, if anything, showed how good The Miz is. If only he wasn't a colossal bag of suck

Dom on the verge of defeat, Rey standing over him to deliver the final blow...but instead he takes out that label maker he uses to put the word "MASK" on his masks and makes a label that says "SON" and puts it on Dom, who breaks down in tears and they hug it out.
