Honestly, I was hoping Charlotte would win for max chaos but whatever.

That had a very “We’ll show then we should’ve been the main event!” vibe to it. Only negative was Charlotte once again pretty much no-selling a loss by smiling and laughing on the outside. TBF that has been a thing in big Women’s Mania match for awhile now. Sasha was caught on camera smiling when Bianca beat her at Mania. Same with Becky. Even Roxanne was smiling when Indi Hartwell won at the NXT show. The Sasha one didn't bother me too much. It was the first, and I just figured she was smiling due to just putting on the best women's match in company history. They really should have told everyone after that not to do it again, though.

An amazing match. Didn’t expect much of it. But when she has the right opponent it shows why Charlotte is the goat of women in WWE. Still glad it didn’t main event over the much deserved tag match though.

Wowser. Just...WOW. Fantastic match. It was difficult to pick MotN for me tonight but this one gets it for me.

I thought it was way better than their first WM match because they actually felt like equals. That was the main issue I had with their last WM match tbh.

Which is fair. But it told a great story about Rhea having to keep growing as a performer to finally overcome the mountain.

I think it's more of a ''long-term'' story in terms of it being great. The night itself though left me feeling flat, and I think I'm in the minority (at least on here) in terms of thinking it wasn't a good match. This one, however, I'll add it to my great Charlotte matches list - along with her SummerSlam match against Trish, her Mania match against Asuka, her Evolution match against Becky and her Takeover matches with Sasha being my main ones.

They stole the show at WM36 and they’ve arguably stolen the show at 39. Love it.
Also, Meltzer said it was one of the best women’s matches in WWE history. Can’t wait for that 4.75.

This was amazing and I think I even preferred it to the tag title match (which is saying something). Rhea looked like a killer and a star, Charlotte sold like hell for her and brought her very best. It was exactly what I wanted from them and was perfectly booked and executed.
Charlotte's smiling made sense in this situation as it was more like "damn, she pulled it off, I'm impressed". They kept specifically showing her outside the ring which makes me think it was entirely deliberate.

I think this one being in front of an actual crowd has a lot to do with it, too. I like Dragunov vs. WALTER II more than the first one for that reason as well.

Makes this 2020 segment only seem more surreal:

LOVED the match. As I said in the "rate the WM" thread these two have such amazing chemistry together, and I'm glad they were able to dial it back in front of a crowd this time.
And of course Charlotte is getting hate for smiling outside the ring in a way that was clearly "good job. you did it. I'm proud of you."
It made complete sense given this was the culmination of years of storytelling with Rhea finally slaying the dragon. And the dragon smiled in approval.
I love Charlotte. I love Rhea. The right woman won, and Flair made Ripley look like a damn megastar. I could watch these two wrestle anytime, they compliment each other so well.

Yeah, this tweet makes me think her smiling wasn't corpsing, but intentional. I am guessing Charlotte goes after Bianca, whether Bianca wins or loses against Asuka, and that we're not getting the tie breaker any time soon between Rhea and Charlotte, so she can afford to just put over Rhea right now without much rancor. I am glad for Rhea. She feels well and truly *made* now.

It was an excellent match and probably the first time I didn't look once at my other computer monitor tonight. That's not a knock on the other matches either because some of them were great too. I actually worried they might have Charlotte win but they made the right choice. I actually appreciated Charlotte smiling. I thought it was a good show of sportsmanship. Even if the crowd treated her like the heel, she ostensibly had been the storyline face so it makes sense. Plus, she can hang her hat on putting on a great match.

There is NOTHING better than when Charlotte flips that switch and gets nasty in a heated match.

Speaking of lack of poker face, I could tell Rhea was winning in the last pin because she actually started happy crying.

Charlotte is a weird case: put her on Mania against an opponent that can hang and it’s a banger. Put her on SD with a more limited opponent and it’s anywhere from passable to outright bad. Seems like she plays to level of her opponent more than anything.
Who can they even build up to challenge Rhea now though? Big final boss energy here.

It was fantastic. One of those rare happy occasions with a match where I thought it was going to be great going into it, and then it was great. They beat the crap out of each for fifteen minutes, then decided to continue beating the crap out of each other for nearly ten minutes more after that. A genuine hoss battle. There is NOTHING better than when Charlotte flips that switch and gets nasty in a heated match. Yeah, it had those Murder-Death-Kill vibes of the TLC 2018 three-way with Asuka and Becky.

I said it lastnight that up to that point the match was really bad but credit where it is due they picked up the pace and hit their stride and it became a very good match by the end.
Now while I am not gonna heap the end all be all praise on it what it did show is that Charlotte is extremely selective on who she actually wants to put over and put in the work for.
