Charlotte needs to be motivated. She’s like Randy Orton in that regard. When they’re motivated, it can be great.
But they aren’t always motivated and you can tell when they aren’t because they phone it in hard and don’t really try to hide it.
And these days Charlotte seems to only really turn it on for certain big matches.

Amazing match and man they gave it everything, well done to Jessica Carr to, the best ref WWE has. I hope they dont make the mistake in turning Rhea a babyface because she is pure 100 percent heel for life in personlity, look and in ring style. Let her be the best heel she can be. Itll be unique because the fans love her but she despises the fans, its a cool dynamic. Charlotte must go back to being heel to because she is so much better a character as a heel.

Even Charlotte herself smiled knowing how great her match with Ripley was despite the loss.

There is NOTHING better than when Charlotte flips that switch and gets nasty in a heated match. Yeah, it had those Murder-Death-Kill vibes of the TLC 2018 three-way with Asuka and Becky. That first Ronda/Charlotte match at survivor series, dude. I love that match.

Only behind Sasha/Bianca as the best women's match in Mania history for me.

It's a shame their Mania 38 match disappointed, because that SS 2018 one is awesome, even moreso considering the circumstances around it.

Which is fair. But it told a great story about Rhea having to keep growing as a performer to finally overcome the mountain.
I think this one being in front of an actual crowd has a lot to do with it, too. I like Dragunov vs. WALTER II more than the first one for that reason as well. For me it wasn't the lack of a crowd (as I LOVE the Owens/Rollins match from that year for example) but, anyway that was a different match from a different Mania. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

WWE has hit it out of the park with some well built stuff recently (Sami/KO vs. Usos, Dom vs. Rey, etc.) but over the years, they've consistently done the "lame build = great match" thing.

WWE has a habit of giving the women crap storylines to work with going into Mania, and the women themselves salvaging it with the matches.
The story for Sasha vs. Bianca was awful.
The Becky/Ronda/Charlotte storyline, cool brawl aside, was also lame.
Stop doing that WWE.

Ultimately if the match is good enough, people won't remember the buildup.

If the build up is amazing but the match or match ending is garbage, that's what is remembered.

One thing Charlotte has said that I sort of agree with is that the men’s world title is pretty much guaranteed to get the main event spot regardless of the story.
So it is kind of ridiculous that the women have to “earn it” whereas the guys get the main event even if the story is crap.
