He will probably bring back the two straps design instead of the big mustard single belt.

So he's Black Adam'ing Wrestlemania now? That sure is an interesting move for someone whosepreviously positive public image is kinda shaky these days.

Judging by how hard this is getting buried, I wouldn't completely rule out another pivot. Monday they need to have a segment in which Punk tells Cody to stop being a bitch and tell Rock that if he thinks he can cut in line he can go to hell.

I'm not even surprised. They already broke the story by not having Cody win last year; of course they screw him out of the title again this year. Are we done with the "WWE is good now" argument? Because it's the same booking, just with a different guy at the helm. I have to ask again if anyone even knows the story they’re so angry they haven’t finished. Because it really feels like no one bothered to pay attention to what it was in the first place. Cody's story of being told he wasn't good enough to main event, leaving the company for like 10 years building up his own reputation (and help making the first real competition WWE has had in like 20 years) and coming back as a major star to win the one major title his Father never did, proving everyone that doubted him completely wrong. that's the story, it's pretty blatantly straight forward.

As cool as it’d be, along with several other “punk being Cody’s yoda” ideas are, it will not work. Because it would paint Johnson in a negative light. And that’s a no-no

The good news is that Triple H is notoriously good at press conferences, so I’m sure this press event next week will go well.

Even if the idea is, "Well, even people who don't care about wrestling will for some reason decide to care about wrestling if it involves a dude who's barely had any movies break even in the current decade!", then it's still completely stupid because Seth and Roman would be completely interchangeable to those people. Also... as stated Wrestlemania was already sold out. Wrestlemania is not a Pay Per View any more it's part of Peacock which you can watch for free. How does any of this bring in any money for the company?

I have no idea how WWE can avoid this skidout they've found themselves in. The match, and story, is getting universally killed by fans. I can't imagine they'd be so boneheaded to just roll with it despite what's about to be two full months of fan backlash.
Also, as I said last night, The Rock has never covered himself in glory when things don't go precisely according to plan. How's he going to respond the next time he's on live television and the fans turn on him? When the fans aren't chanting along with whatever stupid catchphrase he's trying to get over? The last two times things went awry for him, he stammered and completely lost himself in the ring (when he got called out by John Cena for writing notes on his wrist), and made one of wrestling's most famous pouty faces (when the crowd booed the end of the 2015 Royal Rumble).

Idk if I can see a pivot. Let me preface this by saying I HATE THIS AS MUCH AS THE REST OF YOU. But money talks, and we are a vocal minority,

The power struggle right now in WWE is so insane. It makes Game of Thrones look boring and uncomplicated.

It says so much about the absolute state of WWE that the twelve years of part-timers coming in to 'save' Wrestlemania has finally burned people out enough that the fanbase is pretty united on how much this sucks. A guy who was a limited, gassed legacy act over a decade ago trying to muscle back in as if it didn't kick off a long time of them using part-timers to undercut the current roster for short-term gain. These people have all the same impulses every time and it's somewhere between pathetic and exhausting to behold. This Wrestlemania o all Wrestlemanias didn't need fixing and even fi they reverse course, it's going to loom over the show, something that sucks some of the air out of the room and takes away from the moment they got forced to give in to, because everyone knows this isn't some Yes Movement shit.

Idk if I can see a pivot. Let me preface this by saying I HATE THIS AS MUCH AS THE REST OF YOU. But money talks, and we are a vocal minority, The 2 videos combined have got over half a million dislikes in less than 24 hours. The top trending topic is We Want Cody. I don't think it's just the minority.
