Would have anyone in the Attitude Era gotten over if Hulk kept showing up randomly? Hulk did this stuff to Warrior and Bret. It was not until Hogan left that Bret gained "top guy" status. Wasn't there talks to bring Warrior back to the WWE in 1998? If so, that was a bullet dodged, dude would have eaten up whoever was going to work with him and as one of the top heels, chances are one of those would have been The Rock. |

I think some are overestimating the number of “casual” fans who are watching wrestling. From what I can tell, this “boom” we’re in is driven by WWE drumming up more interest among their hardcore fanbase and getting some of their lapsed fans to return. I’m not in the young demo anymore, but I’ve noticed almost no WWE buzz out in real life. I see no shirts. I’ve heard no one talking about it. I don’t see an uptick in their merchandise available in stores. WWE came to town in December and I heard of no one at work or in my friend circles attending who hasn’t been a massive wrestling fan for 20-30 years. And The Rock is about as cold as he’s been as a celebrity. Honestly who cares about The Rock enough in 2024 to watch him wrestle if you don’t already like wrestling? I don’t think him being at Wrestlemania is going to bring hardly any new eyes to the show and it more than likely is going to jeopardize the hard-earned goodwill WWE has built with the returning lapsed fans who have powered this boom and who left the first time in large part because of fatigue over booking like this.

They outright had Roman say that other belt was the second place title. In kayfabe as well as factually it is one now & so you'll have Cody chase that and look stupid.
How long can they expect fans to stay behind a guy who looks like a complete goober?

What kind of response do we get on Monday about the "loser's bracket title" (should Cody challenge Rollins)? What type of fiery promo can Cody and Seth (and possibly Drew) deliver to invest fans in a match no one really wanted to see? Or do they swerve us again by having Cody take on Gunther or (heaven forbid) Dragunov? I really want to eat crow here, and maybe I will, but as it stands today? What a mess. I don't think there's anything Seth and Cody can do to get people to want to see the match. It's been done multiple times in recent memory so there's no novelty in it and it's just so blatantly f***ing Cody over in the process. Not to mention they're not exactly doing it any favors by having Roman and Heyman run down the belt and call it worthless on a continual basis and, from a meta level, showing that they don't consider Seth important enough for him to get the Rock match instead even though that makes vastly more sense. No matter what they run with now, the damage is already done. Even if they did by chance add Cody in and make it a triple threat to save face, that doesn't change the fact WWE pushed Cody to the wayside in favor of Roman vs Rock. The match needed to be one-on-one, Cody vs Roman. Roman vs Rock can come later, and as many people have already agreed, it DOES NOT need the title involved. |

But the casuals regardless of the number is what drives buisness. Why hasn't it been mainstream? Because the large amount of casuals went away. And The Rock is a major star regardless of how tone deaf and non-sensical this power move was. Which again I want to reiterate, this move f***ing sucks |
