Rock could've done a segment where Solo and Jimmy beat his ass at Mania to set up a match with Roman a year after.
Just so many better ways to do this than to force a match with barely any build to headline the biggest show.

Had to sit and be told by people how "brilliant" this all was to make Cody "bigger and more popular and make the want for the win stronger" The reality actually is, they didn't need to do it, Cody could have just won, and THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T WAIT AN EXTRA YEAR, because life is f***ing unpredictable, and HHH lost his power yet again to a dude who snuck in and decided to make himself the damn star in the 11th hour It's The Rock's fault in this case, it's HHH's fault for last year, a perfect storm of bullshit for Cody Rhodes to have to endure that might actually be worse than what his Father had to, and that's really what makes it depressing, his whole thing was "I'm not gonna be like my Dad!" and that is EXACTLY what is happening to him... He became bigger in SPITE of losing at last year's mania IMO. All this has proven to me is that almost nothing can stop Cody's ascension and they took his ass for granted. Everything that they did in the latter half of 2023 would have made more sense if Cody had won. |

At this point I am like 100% sure another Vince story or more names come out mid week just right before the Wrestlemania press conference. There truly is a dark cloud over the company right now for real. Nothing is going to stop it at this point. Rock should've known better if there were actual good intentions, which I feel like there probably wasn't even that. Maybe there was. Let's say just for argument sake that TKO decides to clean house and get rid of everyone they thought could have been involved in unsavory dealings. The media would still take weeks and months talking about "how could they have let it happen in the first place". So shortsighted and so stupid. Yup. The awful and disgusting Vince/Brock/John stuff and this fan outrage over Cody Rhodes and Rock. A lot of people are simply going to walk away and never come back at this point with this company. I do wonder though if the media are ready to release more stuff but they want to time it right. A story that comes out the Friday night before Wrestlemania Night 1 I could definitely see. |

So they split the belts and the possible endgame is just to f***ing unify them again. Never ever f***ing tell me that Triple H is a creative genius ever again. This would be f***ing PUTRID Kills the WHC more than it already is by unifying it again and killing the entire flimsy point of its shitty existence It likely writes Drew and Sami out of a prime Mania spot that RAW was building up for them with Punk hurt Writes Cody out of Mania and destroys his storyline and the finish of it will be lesser no matter what happens now And it's all completely convoluted and bullshit all because The Rock wanted the spotlight and all the power., completely f***ing embarrassing doesn't even begin to cover how much this blows if this is their plan. I can't believe The Rock actively imploded something so fast and maybe worse than Vince McMahon ever did at his worst points of booking, that's insanely impressive. |

Cagematch now gives this promo a 0.23 rating out of 10. Which is the second worst promo in ratings history on that site after "I wish you died in the womb" At least that Nikki promo was funny bad. ......and provided us with years of memes..... |

I would have no idea that there is large group of people that consider Rock's movie career failing amid some DC related drama. It extends beyond Black Adam, the guy's been having dud after dud lately. Basically the only successes he's had in the past seven years have been the Jumanji movies and the Fast and the Furious ones, and even the latter have had a ton of behind the scenes drama and the last one lost a shitload of money, then you have stuff like Young Rock being cancelled and the XFL falling flat on its face again. It's why they're rushing to remake Moana even though Disney's otherwise just been remaking the older stuff, because Rock desperately needs a win right now due to the fact his star is burning out. He's still pretty consistently at the top of any 'highest grossing actors' lists, year-in year-out. Black Adam took $400m dollars. That's a lot of people going to see a movie even if it didn't make money for the studio. I don't think his acting career is 'failing' by any reasonable measure and I think to the mainstream he's still a popular figure. So I'm interested how that balances with how unpopular he (or at least this decision) is with hardcore wrestling fans and which of those has the biggest effect on live crowds/ratings in the lead up to Mania. |
