Say Rock vs. Roman happens and the former gets seriously hurt two minutes in, what will the bootlickers say?

I love the argument of "Rock is a better fit for this because it doesn't matter nothing matters nobody will beat Roman anyways this title reign is gonna go past Bruno numbers what does anything matter anymore #WEWANTROCKY" also oh my god someone straight up posting the HHH stupid marks promo as an own on other fans, WWE has to cherish the bootlicker segment of the fanbase they've accumulated It's hard to think anyone can be more of a 'mark' than someone who's decided they are superior to other fans because they're willing to take up WWE's sword and go for a shittier show on the idea it's 'better for business'. It's a bit nuts how people have flipped that around so readily.

Usually, fandoms who obsess over numbers wait until the actual dust is settled. Box office watchers in movie fandoms who celebrate/commiserate over opening weekends and worldwide grosses. Wrestling is the only place hwere pre-emptively it's aobut how much money something could make, and how actually it's good the show is actively worse because in theory a worse show might make more money for one night.

There's no chance no matter how people react that they're changing plans even if WWE entirely wants to pivot, because that's Dwayne's decision and Dwayne's response is LALALALALALAIMNOTLISTENING.

It's amazing any time anything like this happens you always get the same two really smug group of people
1. "YOU ASKED FOR THIS YOU MARKS ARE NEVER HAPPY"
2. "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU MARKS ARE FALLING FOR THIS GREAT PR MOVE!"

So to recap so far in this thread since Friday, who's looking good and who's looking ass? Good: Cody The Coach Kayla Brandi Pharoah Ass: Seth Conrad Dwayne Ricochet Roman Heyman TKO Ari Anything to add to the ass list? Unfortunately, I’d probably add Drew and Sami to the asslist because they’ve now been f***ed out of what was probably going to be a triple threat with Seth. Drew can do all the fun stuff on social that he wants but he ‘s still kind of a loser. Also throw Damien Priest onto the pile of ass. Looks like his destination is Bitchhalla.

I love the "Rock is a big star why shouldn't he do that" because every moment WWE has had since The Rock last main evented sits as this really amazing case study in how, if you never actually let someone main event, they will never rise to the level of the stars you keep calling in to bump them out of their spot. Like, The Rock did not get so big because Hogan, Warrior, Savage, and Piper were all rushed in to take his place. He got so big from having big storylines and marquee matches against his contemporaries. By the time he had the match with Hogan, he was a multi-time world champion and had already starred in The Scorpion King. He was allowed to become a big star, and all these industry genius smart boys like Conrad who defend it don't really process that the fact that they can't get another Rock in a guy like Cody entirely because they keep doing this junk Definitely worth reading that Conrad Tweet in context, and the rest of his posts this weekend. His position on this is basically the opposite of what you're criticising.
