I 100% believe that people care about both. Everyone here does and I'm sure the wider fan base does as well. But they're not making noise about both. WWE could not give a f*** about what people think, only what they do. #JusticeforJanelGrant has 2,500 tweets. #WewantCody has 339k. That's in no way proportionate to the level of how people care, but it is noise that WWE can see. That's the point. There's a complaint filed, Vince is gone, and that will take time but hopefully the overwhelming evidence will give her justice and Vince will rot. That's upto the courts, wtf is tweeting going to do about it? I could see the argument and I would wholeheartedly agree if the feds weren't already investigating but they are. No amount of tweeting is going to change how that investigation goes, even if this whole Cody shit isn't even a speck in the grand scheme of things. This shit doesn't matter at all, the other issue does and there isn't going to be less attention on Vince being evil, it is only getting more by media publications because now there's an even bigger focus on WWE as a whole. To call everyone marks goes back to exactly what I was saying last night and it is hot garbage.

It doesn't make sense to me the idea that WWE has done this on purpose to get support for Cody like a 'YES movement'. Cody was already the top star in the company, the story was there for everyone to just enjoy. All this has done is piss people off and yeah maybe people will be more relieved if Cody does eventually get the match back but it's such a stupid backwards way to do it. No way this is on purpose. I don't think it's a work either, although it's certainly noteworthy that Dave Meltzer does. But I do think they'll benefit from it in the long run, failing upwards or not. It's certainly making Cody a bigger star and more over babyface. And people are undoubtedly more invested in where this is going than they would be if Cody had just picked Roman for WM. Overall though, there's no way they would've thought it'd get this level of reaction to do it deliberately. And #WeWantCody doesn't make any sense in this storyline where Cody voluntarily gave up his shot (rather than being held down by management like the 'YES' story).

Speaking of never-ending stories... seems like The King of Bottle Style is back. I wish Nakamura could have misted The Rock instead.

I seriously still can't believe this story, man. To have the mofo win the Rumble and now this.
This has to be one the wildest events show-wise I've seen in a while.

Remember when they tried to throw Bryan in that Wyatt feud? Yep. The equivalent today would be Cody joining Judgment Day on the Road to Wrestlemania Not that Cody in purple and black, wearing eyeliner and lipstick wouldn't be... well, amazing, but...

Well according to a fightful article, apparently WWE Thinks the reaction is 50/50.

Here is my thing. They are probably better off pivoting. But even if they do pivot, they'll still come across like they don't know what they're doing after going back and forth and back and forth. They'll look like they don't know what their fans want. Hell, they'll look like they don't know what they want.

I want to throw in a personal comic book fan rant about how it's not like Black Adam being treated as a hero was 100% on Dwayne. Adam was the precious baby pet character of Geoff Johns, the guy who was put in charge of how DC properties get adapted and whose decision is, nearly 100% of the time, "make it whichever version I wrote." (That worked great for Aquaman, disastrously for Green Lantern, decently enough for The Flash on TV, poorly for The Flash as a movie.) The big Black Adam story arc adapted for the movie, while being a story arc that got me to quit reading the comic it was published in, was one of Johns' signature stories. Many of the problems with the movie were pretty likely to arise from an entirely separate egotist that the Rock's demands were relatively compatible with. Hard disagree on your take on Geoff Johns' work with Black Adam (Black Reign is a classic story for a reason). That said, that wasn't even the problem. The problem was that the character Dwayne was playing also barely resembles the character in the comics. In the comics, Black Adam was an anti-villain, not an anti-hero. While he has admirable traits and isn't some moustache twirling baddie, he's also the kind of guy who thinks ripping criminals in half on international television is perfectly rational behavior. He's a complex character, but he's very much not the good guy (not usually, anyways). Rocky was so afraid of doing anything even somewhat morally ambiguous so you end up with him basically playing the same character he plays in everything else. None of the nuance was there, none of the character development for Black Adam or the JSA that made that story good was there. All because The Rock wanted to take a b level villain and turn him into the main character of the DCEU. Plus the whole set up of "ooh Black Adam kills!" when the entire franchise started out with Superman cracking a guy's neck. Poor Henry Cavill, brought him back w no contract to try and get positive buzz to the point the 'surprise' was part of the 11th hour marketing and then everyone involved looks dumb.

The first 2 hours of Raw should be Black Adam playing on the entrance screen and Drew sitting in the middle of the ring doing running commentary on how awful it is. I'd be down for McIntyre Science Theater 3000 “SLEEEEEEP!!”

Watching people start to get just the tiniest bit hopeful that they might pivot just for WWE to post a video that Cody is going to feud with Shinsuke Nakamura again might be worse whiplash than Ricochet's panicked backtracking on his Rock take.

I wonder if they'll try to turn Cody fans heel like they tried to do with Bryan fans in 2015

I wonder if they'll try to turn Cody fans heel like they tried to do with Bryan fans in 2015 That would be an incredible twist after everyone just saw the video of a Cody Fan being legally blind and just going to a show to ATTEMPT to see him.
