Odds on WWE burying Cody to teach us a lesson for not cheering who they want us to cheer and getting behind the match they want us to enjoy? Next week on Raw, Kane pushes Cody's wheelchair off the entrance stage, and the wheelchair perfectly folds itself closed.

I swear WWE, if you don't pivot, Hammerstein is gonna look like a nice crowd reaction compared to what Rock and Roman will get. Shit, Rock in the summer of 2002 will look incredibly popular compared to this. And that Rock got booed even when making fun of Stephanie. If that ain't a sign he has no control over this One of the best tight ends in the NFL being a wrestling nerd is so strange yet endearing. He's gonna pop up at that press conference somehow, and start chanting for Cody and Bayley. One of the best tight ends in the NFL being a wrestling nerd is so strange yet endearing. I think he'd be great as a wrestling character. Certainly better than Gronk was in his few appearances. I think that Gronk knew he would be back in the NFL, was just waiting for Brady to say the word so he didn't do shit in fear of injury. I think he'd be great as a wrestling character. Certainly better than Gronk was in his few appearances. Did you say Gronk? That one WWE Security guard just rose up from her nap like The Undertaker. Gronk is massive compared to NFL players, and she still charged at him with no hesitation. That woman should be in the Hall of Fame for that.

I remember some people at the time saying the Ryder burial was ok because he bombed during a segment with Bryan and Punk one time. Because God forbid we still have some over midcarders, too.

Don't let WWE gaslight you into thinking this is some kind of Yes Movement work. That's incomprehensible garbage and anything that happens on Thursday to get Cody back into his spot is going to be a miserable pivot that won't make any sense in the broader context of why anyone would plan a story this way. I remember seeing people trying to give WWE credit for its 'master plan' ten years ago and it's going to happen again but this isn't how anyone would willingly put a coherent narrative together. Don't buy anything that they do now to pull back from this. The Rock tweeting how happy people are for him to be main eventing Wrestlemania at 3 AM is not a work, it's the sad gesture of a bruised ego, and letting him off the hook spares only that ego.

I'm full on in cope mode here but let's just say Roman beats Dwayne at Mania Cody gets his title shot on the next night on RAW with the rabid Raw after Mania crowd. Would you take that at this point? Here's how to protect that record they want. Roman: "You want a shot at the title, fine, let me give you a shot at the one your DADDY never had. The WWE Championship." Roman drops ONLY the WWE title to Cody. He goes back to Smackdown and continues the reign of terror Universal record and happily can pass Hogan or whatever they want. WE ALL WIN! AND/OR, if they want to do an actual "Dusty Finish," have Cody win both titles at Mania, then the next night on Raw show that the WWE Championship was the only one on the line for the match so Roman gets the universal title returned to him and then they continue the stupid counting game.

Zack Ryder would be perfect for a Royal Rumble return. I would have popped more for him than 75% of the entrants we got. At least we’d recognize his theme song over most of this generic dreck.

I predict we get a Rock/Roman/Cody triple threat as a pivot but Rock goes over to soothe his feelings. Rock is realistic enough to know he can’t work a FT schedule so drops it to Cody at either the raw after Mania or one of those Euro PPVs scheduled just after.

They fell ass backwards into the Yes Movement, kicking and screaming at that. They got lucky. Even if they were trying to recreate that, it's just as creatively bankrupt as booting Cody to Axxess dark matches like they want.

Doesn't anyone understand this is all a metaphor for corporate America?
The old guy on the board takes all the money and rewards that should belong to the staff. The hardest workers get a meaningless made up title and more responsibilities. Customers get a worse product.
These are hard times. The American dream has become a nightmare.

Cody bottling it again at 'mania would be a booking atrocity. And if Dwayne is realistic enough to know he can't work a full time schedule, he should be realistic enough to know he can't wrestle one full match without sucking so much air the floor will have oxygen levels comparable to the summit of K2 and blow out something in his roided up body, let alone another match the next night.

It's amazing people think they're doing "What the YES Movement did!" earnestly like the YES Movement wasn't by complete f***ing luck and them actively pivoting from a mistake they were ready to full bore take into a Mania The big difference between that and this is they seem dead set on taking this mistake full bore into Mania with no pivots, because The Rock wants what he wants and they can't stop him now that he has full power.

I know this is off topic but It’s adorable and a palette cleanser from all the crap WWE is doing recently.

I wonder what you even do as Rock's PR guy. Wrestling was the one last place where he could basically do no wrong and now... yeah. What would a public rehabilitation process or eventual attempt even look like, people probably won't buy it.

I already felt bad for Seth, but tonight really put that over. Dude looked genuinely shaken trying to sell this and having it so soundly rejected and the crowd outright cheered McIntyre running him down and attacking him.

Listened to WOL: Dave says the “Rocky Sucks” chants weren’t as loud as he (or WWE, as it seems) expected. Thst Punk probably didn’t win the rumble because it was planned for him to go the EC. They brought up the “WeWantCody” signs administered at both NXT & RAW. Bryan asks a really good question, basically “If this was all planned… the plan was for Rocky to get heat?” Dave says this confuses him too but states he firmly knows “Rocky doesn’t care if he gets booed”. He’s “about the box office”, the “buy rate” and “popularity”. That no matter what “there definitely isn’t a lack of interest in WrestleMania”.
