maybe, there are numerous soccer players who play with pacemakers and you forget they even have one but I guess combat sports and his age may make it impossible either way whoever rocks is clearly fighting so I wonder what his match is? seth most likely based on that presser Rock and Roman vs. Seth and Cody is apparently the direction for Night 1, then you'll get Cody/Roman on Night 2. I know Meltzer is saying that's what he thinks is happening but I really can't see that tag match happening on night 1. Remember Meltz for the past week has been adamant that Rock v Roman was happening in some fashion at Mania now he's suddenly saying they're teaming and they won't be fighting each other. He's not always 100% correct. You're risking Roman/Cody getting injured before their title match 24 hours later. And Seth will just be back from injury so it'd be weird to have him wrestling 2 nights in a row also (he'd surely be defending his title the next night too). I could see a slim chance of it happening at EC but that's so close they'd have to get it announced immediately on Smackdown tomorrow and it'd only be possible if Seth is cleared which I don't think is the case yet. |

This still sounds like the most convoluted and asinine way to get Cody/Roman at Mania. Don't feel like patting WWE on the back doing something right that should have been done right in the first place AND still have too many questions going into Mania. I get there's still time but I have zero desire to see The Rock shoehorn his way onto the show after how he made this mess in the first place. One needs only look at the reaction that The Rock coming out actually got and how long it took him to even speak, to not give WWE a back pat for shit. They had to do something and so much of why I'm not into WWE is because this shit feels like it has to keep happening because they keep having to be dragged kicking and screaming to stuff like this. |

Is Cody handing his opportunity off for no good reason to some other guy and then having to run back to get it, but keep that new guy who has nothing to do with any of this in the match, any better? The 'huge amount of praise' you're not remembering is the crowd reaction after Cody won the Rumble. I don't know where there's even room to act like this wasn't something WWE's audience wasn't all in on and ready to consider a satisfying and good story as written. A simple story is sometimes the best one. People want to see Cody win the important title. I don't think they are invested in the specific storyline with Roman Reigns which has had almost zero memorable moments to this point that didn't involve a rubber chicken. If I'm wrong, presumably the crowds would shit all over Cody being added to a triple threat. Or any way this goes that isn't Cody vs Roman 1vs1 because that's the story they want. I don't think they will, I think they'll cheer every bit as loud if/when Cody wins, however he does it. The fans chanted "no" to Cody potentially facing Seth. The fans want Cody specifically to win the title from Reigns. |

Nice to see that it appears that they are back to doing the right thing. I checked out the Rock clips a few pages back. It was alright heeling but kinda obnoxious, which I guess is the Rock.
Still, the rumours that Roman might work 2 nights is mindboggling given his barely there booking for the past few years.

Yeah Rock had no bearing on people not wanting Cody v Seth. Even if he was nowhere to be found most fans still didn't want that match at Mania. Cody has to take Roman's title specifically to finish his story. He said as much in his very first promo in 2022. He can face Seth and challenge for the other title in the future but doing it before he completes his main goal would have made absolutely no sense. Hell if Cody/Seth was the match I straight up was not even going to bother watching Mania live. Nothing against them and they'd have worked hard but it's what they've been building for 2 years. |
