Soo… did they announce anything at Smackdown? Cody vs. Roman was reiterated as the main event for Mania. And Roman and Rock will be at Smackdown next week (which is a double taping).

My two criticisms of the press conference: That "wrestling has more than one royal family" is gonna hit like crack at mania After all the bloodline, blah blah “our family is the greatest” love moment between Dwayne & Roman, hitting Cody’s theme would have been perfect and the pop would have been insane because of the intro. And.. So Cody willingly gave The Rock the match, then came back and said “nuh-uh, takesies-backsies.” I don’t get how Rock is the bad guy here. It just makes Cody look like feckless and indecisive bitch. Willingly gave Rock the match, hugged him in the ring, and then walked away to signify that he's not in the picture. Gave up his dream without a fight. Then walks it back a few days later without giving a valid reason as to why he 1) he changed his mind, and 2) agreed to it in the first place. He just walked out and said "this is BS" and "I won the Royal Rumble so I get to pick", which is ridiculous because all of that applied a week earlier when he let Rock have the match. As I said, Cody needs to cut the promo of his life to make sense of this. I know most fans won't care as they get the match they wanted all along, but the Bloodline story and Roman's title reign possibly ending deserve great execution, not half-assed. The perfect thing for Cody to have said was he was wrong in his thinking. That Rock wasn’t doing this for the reason(s) he thought. That their family is not the be all, end all family in wrestling. I’m surprised they didn’t play it like that.

So with us being back to where we were going before last Friday's smackdown hijacked it.
We are all of the conclusion here Cody has to win the titles now MORE than ever right?
Unless you see WWE stretching this out with Rock interfering to help Roman cheat to win.
And then it's Rock and Cody spinoff feud?

At this point I think the whole thing was a publicity stunt to distract us from Vince I think it’s a mix of this and the company’s general track record of awful booking decisions. If that was the case, they did a shitty job of it. People were still talking about Vince while being mad at Cody, because people can focus on multiple issues at once.

People were still talking about Vince while being mad at Cody, because people can focus on multiple issues at once. And we still got new news about Vince's scumminess in all of this, so this wasn't really much of a distraction.

I think he still does. But after all this, come on. I think you’ve gotta give it to Cody lol. Business wise, it can still lead to Roman versus The Rock at Saudi or SS. Absolutely does not need the title. Friend of mine is confident Roman’s retaining. We both have long hair and are teasing the idea of doing hair versus hair. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared shitless betting on Cody lol

Your main event will be arriving, same as announced yesterday, on Sunday, April 7th, it will be the correct match that was already announced yesterday. Please stand by for a very important announcement further regarding your wrestlemania main event”

Unless you see WWE stretching this out with Rock interfering to help Roman cheat to win. And then it's Rock and Cody spinoff feud? Cody has to win. Dude is the most over babyface they have, he's on the verge of megastardom and WWE cannot afford to have him choke at 'mania again. It would be a disaster if Cody doesn't leave with the undisputed title on April 8th.
It also would be bad for Roman too, his title reign ran out of steam months ago and there was no suspense with his Royal Rumble match because everyone knew how it was going to end. He should have lost the title a long time ago. Having another one of his cousins help him win would be a travesty and ensure more of a reign that is well past its sell by date.
And F*** TO THE NO to a Rock/Cody feud. Cody shouldn't have to carry the gassed and juiced up ass of Dwayne to something decent, and while The Rock would show no mercy to his opponents on the mic, he would let them get loads of shit in come match time and he had the cardio to make it work. Without that, there is no point in a feud between Cody and The Rock.

the most we should get for Cody/Rock is interactions where Rock hits a Rock Bottom on Cody during a segment, and then Cody paying it back by getting Rock with Crossrhodes.

If they wanted him to retain, they would make it a triple threat with the Rock I feel like. At this point, this is Cody’s second straight shot after winning back to back rumbles and him losing again would be terrible writing. Cody is on fire right now and the fans DEMANDED this match. He HAS to win. This is also a decade anniversary mania which is where big shit happens and where the underdog prevails. If Cody doesn’t win this, the company deserves to go under

Something kind of eating at me with this is that they're still very much signaling the idea of an eventual Orton / Reigns feud.

I won't believe anyone has taken that title off Reigns until the show is officially over. Not even when/if Cody pins Reigns 1-2-3, I'll wait to jump for joy until the Peacock stream is over.
