This is a lot of drama for Roman to win again (and eventually win against the Rock too) People in their 40s going on about how Roman winning is a formality because "he has to beat Hogan's record!", that Cody must suffer because he's been handed everything since he returned (and using Sami's current booking to bash Cody) and coming up with convoluted ways for Roman to win ("what if Rock forces Nick Aldis to turn on Cody and have a layered evil authority against him!?")... instead of just giving people what they want and having Cody win is crazy to see. The part that annoys me is when these same people in their 40s bring up Dusty's "Hard Times" promo without actually understanding it. They see it as like "hard times are when bad things happen to you as bad things are hard." Like, Bully Ray's absolutely braindead, even by Bully Ray standards, defense of last year's Wrestlemania ending in that clip that went around the day after. "Now it's time for Cody to experience hard times." Not even taking into account the context of the Dusty feud, just looking at it in a vacuum - Dusty's "Hard Times" promo isn't about "look at these bad things that happened, I will overcome them." It's always, always, always been about finding hope in a time of despair when there is no hope to be found. Dusty specifically says Flair *didn't* put "hard times" on Dusty by taking him out. Dusty says Flair put hard times on "this country" by taking Dusty out. That's a substantial difference. Cody feeling bad about losing or perhaps feeling bad about letting his fans down is very specifically NOT what Dusty was talking about. Just irks me when people try to 1:1 Dusty and Cody's stories as justification for bad booking.

I do wonder if the elite had chosen to go to WWE if they would take part in this feud. I know Cody by the end of Aew had completely disasociated from the elite but there was a very possible chance we would see bloodline vs the elite in a match at least once Would've stretched it out to War Games for sure if they had just come aboard in 2024. Cody Kenny Hangman Nick Matt Roman Rock Jey Jimmy Solo That is ONE HELL of a match.

Seth Rollins standing side by side with Cody has me wondering what’s going down there. Tag match? One on one with The Rock?

there's two shots in the ad of Roman and the Rock posing in front of a stadium crowd which look vastly different from the rest of the teaser. I'm guessing that was meant for what would've been the original version of this teaser to promote Rock vs. Roman before they pivoted.

Now it won't gain the traction it did last weekend unless Cody loses at Wrestlemania.
But what a trip this thread has been. It started at page 42 when all the madness began.
What a time that was last week in this thread!

I have a full time job so I gave up on reading everything in here. I'd check in for a few pages now and again, get confused by references to stuff I hadn't read, skip to the newest stuff, read some of that.
Even that was a wild ride. I can only imagine how it was for all of you who were in the trenches the whole time.

f***ing sick. Think this one will be, no hyperbole, the biggest of all time. If the right winners come out on top, then yeah it can beat Mania 17 potentially

In retrospect, and especially after Seth's promo on Raw tonight, Wrestlemania XL seems like it's gonna be the Avengers Endgame to Wrestlemania 39's Infinity War in terms of Cody's story.

I gotta say, tonight really elevated the storyline. I don't even care about all that stuff that happened over the past 2 weeks. Like I said, Cody recovered and now he's going in there with Seth, he's going in there with more than last year. It's great.

Yeah, it feels like Cody’s actually assembling the Avengers this time. My guess is he’s gonna have some interactions with Sami, Jey and Seth over the next few weeks and the Bloodline’s gonna be outnumbered for the first time when Cena shows up again at Mania.

Yeah, the rematch actually has a more compelling story than the first match. WWE was absolutely right on the money for stretching this out a year. It was a risk and disappointed a lot of people, but I think Cody winning this year would mean a lot more.
Of course, if Cody loses…….

I want them to involve EVERYONE at this point. Get Owens involved, he’s got a score to settle with Roman, Get Miz involved, nobody’s won a belt from Reigns since him six years ago, and he knows what it’s like to get your spotlight stolen by Dwayne, get Randy and Jey and Knight and everyone else in here, I want a whole squad backing up Cody.
