That’s true but I certainly trust Triple H much more to keep it hot enough for the moment Cody does beat Roman than I did with Vince booking. Given how Triple H took Sami Zayn being insanely over and on the cusp of being a massive star and a year later had him in the position of, "Oh yeah, that guy exists, I forgot," when he came out at #30 in the Rumble, I wouldn't count on shit. This is the same dude who booked Keith Lee to forfeit the North American title just so he could immediately get squashed for the NXT one by Karrion Kross. Dude's a garbage writer. Yeah, Triple H is just as bad as Vince. He learned everything he knows from Vince. He just hasn’t had time to build up the reputation that Vince had, but he’s well on his way.

So does Cody's "not at Mania" mean that it isn't a title match or that he already knows Rock is going to lose thus making him even dumber? Doesn't sound like there is a good answer

...Jesus. f***ing. Christ. Uh... have we discussed the Bryan/Batista/Orton esque Triple Threat possibility yet? I know he said "not at Mania" but. I mean. He could take that back? Or something? The thing about this. If it were to happen. Hypothetically. Does Cody pinning Rock to win the titles and Roman doesn't do a clean pin cheapen the win and the titles for Cody? I think it sadly would. Wouldn't matter because if they did do a triple threat Rock would probably insist on stacking them and pinning them both.

I highly doubt Rock gets booed at Mania. There'll be an initial pop for OMG I GET TO SEE THE ROCK IN PERSON then the match will be maybe three minutes long so Rock hopefully doesn't get injured and the crowd doesn't have time to turn on it.

Roman f***ing Reigns of all people knows what it’s like to repeatedly get the rug pulled from under him at Mania and should have told Hunter to go f*** himself and he’s gonna strap Cody up. Unless he damn well knew they weren’t letting him drop the title… Sometimes I feel like Roman the person, doesn't really care at all for Cody. Not in a malicious way, but like Cody is someone Roman would never be friends with in real life. Just a business associate only and by that in trade only. Would never been seen out in public together or anything. I'm sure healthy competition still exists in wrestling, and that's what it is.

We need the live crowds from now until Mania to chant "We want Cody" every time the Rock, Reigns, or even Heyman is in the ring doing a promo. Do it during every Jimmy Uso and Solo match as well. It probably won't change anything, but they need to know this crap can't wait another year.

Someone just had to remind me of the GoT ending. Now I’m annoyed again.
Hopefully WWE is quicker at finishing the story than GRRM though 🤔

Honestly, I hope they do a last min change. Have rock get “injured” and Cody takes his place. Yes it would be dumb but so was what Cody did tonight.

This long of a reign can't end with anything except a 1v1 match. It ending in any other type of way or not clean would be several magnitudes stupider and short sighted than this is and this is already bad enough that it makes me wanna rip my hair out. This is like if AEW decided to have Paul Wight get a title match instead of Hangman winning the title, they've now booked themselves into the rarest of spots where even all of the swerves I can think of would be dogshit compared to what they had right there. Absolutely stupid. Roman isn't losing at Mania to the Rock, Cody is gonna beat an injured guy while commentary tells us this is so admirable the whole time and that title probably won't change for several more years. I haven't seen the reaction outside of here to this but I would imagine it ain't great.

The shows are 1000% better than when Vince was booking, and the best weekly wrestling shows on TV, imo. He’s developed a ton of characters, gotten a ton of talent extremely over, created a lot of credibility in virtually all of the titles, etc etc. Doesn’t mean everything he books is great or everyone is treated ideally but I do trust him to be able to keep Cody hot, for now. We’ll see if that happens or not.

I know what'll distract people from the Vince news, let's put the Rock in the match. Minutes later, the entire internet is still talking about the Vince stuff but NOW you have people upset about the product too. A bumbling farting ballet dance of idiocy that'll just turn more people away from drooling and defending the company as a whole. Astoundingly stupid booking especially for the moment. Okay but isn't this the most WWE thing imaginable? Don't overcome a story by putting on a good show and maybe let6ting your big crowning moment for your top face be the feel-good moment to carry everyone through these dark times. Instead, shit all the f*** over that to let someone in a top position cram themself into a moment, deny everyone the thing that would be good, and end up with everyone madder at you, not rationalizing away the bad feelings by being entertained or given some light in this darkness, but instead being displeased on every front. It's the only move WWE f***ing knows.

Honestly what are examples of world champions sticking for someone else to beat then in wrestling? The only recent one I can think of is Omega wanting to put over Hangman. Sadly most wrestlers don't have the mindset of wanting to tell the best story possible

Absolutely not, not even close. If you actually watched under Vince weekly and watch under Hunter weekly (you’ve admitted you don’t), it’s completely night and day. Also I’d be pretty sure that this decision on Rock was above him.

The thing that baffles me even more is if Rock/Roman is indeed for the belt, then we all know Roman is winning. There is no god damn way a 51/52 year old Rock works anything remotely resembling a full WWE schedule. He’d peace out and only appear again like the month before Summerslam to start doing promos about his opponent at that show.
