That report is emblematic of why wrestling will forever have its hot and cold eras. It's because the egos behind the curtain make it so. HHH is no saint, and I still don't believe he's in the clear amongst all the mess happening in Stamford. But, sheesh, this reads like more of a takeover by Dwayne. Gewirtz being the "plan B" sounds like the vultures circling overhead. I personally don't mind him, at least in comparison to Russo or the other big-time WWE writers of the past, but man. Looks like we might be seeing some major upheaval, and very soon. I've long felt that whether Triple H has any connections to the Vince mess, I've long felt that ever since the merger became official, TKO would start putting their own people in positions of power in the WWE... just felt would take about a year... The Rock coming on board and Vince actually being a monster may have sped up the process

I really like that Roman vs Rock was supposedly made as a way to get more money by actively giving their customers something they didn't want. Seriously, this is the same shit Rock tried to do with Black Adam in the DCU, trying to book himself on top and derailing plans along the way.

Triple H's words about Cody not wanting to win a secondary title are coming back to haunt him.

And let’s not forget that with moving Cody over to face Rollins, that means that McIntyre will probably not get to slide into that match, which would have been a good recovery to the Punk injury by still giving Drew his moment.
And again, we wouldn’t be in this situation if Cody had just won last year!

Saved Wrestlemania?
Sure, CM Punk not taking on Seth is a loss, but there are more than suitable opponents for Rollins, Drew McIntyre just put himself right back into contention with his promo on Monday, and there is the Elimination Chamber to decide who gets to face Seth. And Dwyane, as for Beastie Boy, dude is on the decline and his place taking on Gunther can easily be filled by Jey Uso.

Just remembered how there was word going around when it happened that Rock's shot at Roman when he popped up on Raw wasn't something cleared beforehand and that just makes me think that yeah, he absolutely planned to pull this, "Hijack everything and say it's for the good of the company," shit the whole time whether Punk and Lesnar were around or not.

Well at this rate, how about we just stack the odds for Seth.
Cody/Seth/Drew/Sami
Let's not let Drew get screwed out of a title match!

Rock using the Vince fiasco as a coup to take power creatively is not something I had on my bingo card I mean, he took the XFL, why wouldn't he take WWE, too?

What kind of response do we get on Monday about the "loser's bracket title" (should Cody challenge Rollins)?
What type of fiery promo can Cody and Seth (and possibly Drew) deliver to invest fans in a match no one really wanted to see?
Or do they swerve us again by having Cody take on Gunther or (heaven forbid) Dragunov?
I really want to eat crow here, and maybe I will, but as it stands today? What a mess.

I'm not even surprised. They already broke the story by not having Cody win last year; of course they screw him out of the title again this year. Are we done with the "WWE is good now" argument? Because it's the same booking, just with a different guy at the helm. I have to ask again if anyone even knows the story they’re so angry they haven’t finished. Because it really feels like no one bothered to pay attention to what it was in the first place.

Wwe could have simply had its cake and eat it too. Roman/rock night one. Cody uses his rumble privilege for the winner night 2. Everyone is happy.

So at WM 18, Rock not only beat Hogan, but absorbed his political powers in the process.

Yeah, I would be banging this drum as well if it weren't for the "...at WrestleMania" part of Cody's promo. The Hart/Luger/Yoko WMX scenario would be a good pivot, but I just don't see it happening. I just don't think Rock is interested in main eventing Night 1. I feel as if it's the same thing many of us said about a scenario where Cody and Sami could both headline respective nights of Mania against Roman last year. It'll be nice, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I don't think there's anything Seth and Cody can do to get people to want to see the match. It's been done multiple times in recent memory so there's no novelty in it and it's just so blatantly f***ing Cody over in the process. Not to mention they're not exactly doing it any favors by having Roman and Heyman run down the belt and call it worthless on a continual basis and, from a meta level, showing that they don't consider Seth important enough for him to get the Rock match instead even though that makes vastly more sense.
