That’s true but I certainly trust Triple H much more to keep it hot enough for the moment Cody does beat Roman than I did with Vince booking. I'm not worried about Cody's heat, but something fresh off a grill and something fresh out of the microwave can both be equally hot, but aren't equally as satisfying. I mean, that’s pretty much it for me. Crowds won’t turn on Rhodes (the victim of the piece), nor will they not react to the likely Rollins v Rhodes match or the moment where Rhodes probably wins that belt. But I think they’ve missed their moment in terms of getting the absolute maximum out of everything that’s been building since Reigns won the Universal belt in 2020. They got way too cute with it a year ago, let alone tonight.

If you actually watched under Vince weekly and watch under Hunter weekly (you’ve admitted you don’t), it’s completely night and day. I see people say this and I have no idea where it comes from. Things are slightly more logical and there's better continuity but the weekly shows are still mostly bloated, aimless chores where very little actually happens. More logical, better continuity (things are not just dropped like they constantly were). They’ve added more vignettes. Gotten rid of alot of the jargon that commentators would say and the commentators in general are freer to show their talents. Given people their names back. Avoided having so many rematches. I think match quality has improved. Titles have been treated with more importance. A ton of talent up and down the card have stories and are over with the crowd. Etc

Sure but the same was said for them not finishing it last Mania and they managed to make the story mean even more (and him even hotter). We’ll see how it goes now And I'm still not sold on it not being for the best to do it then, but I'm doubly not sold now that the entire justification for them waiting a year has turned into a giant shrug and a "We'll see". Whatever meaning it picked up in the year has just been shit all over. People are really invested in this story and f***ing with it can be disastrous How about you get invested in this, tough guy?

If it were me I'd do Rock/Roman night 1 and Cody/Seth night 1 and have the titles unified on night 2.

I'm in canada so the network is part of my cable package. I was keeping it till mania with the Netflix deal. Only reason I had cable. Now I'm canceling it early. This is not something I have any interest in. I guess bell can blame the rock for losing another customer lol

Absolutely not, not even close. If you actually watched under Vince weekly and watch under Hunter weekly (you’ve admitted you don’t), it’s completely night and day. Also I’d be pretty sure that this decision on Rock was above him. I can see that last part being true. Didn’t HHH and Rock resent each other back in the day? Thank you for reminding me of one of my favorite threads on here: Triple H on his competitive rivalry with The Rock

And not one I would’ve taken. But I guess Rock-Roman is bigger “business” right now

I guess they can do Cody at 41, but he’s going to turn 40 next year… kinda too early for Bron, Trick, and Melo. I’m not gonna watch unless the Rock miraculously drops out of the title match and Cody is in it but I’m curious on when they have Roman drop the title

It's only $2 a month for me right now, and I want to watch NXT, but no interest in giving them more money right now and it's due to renew tomorrow so out the window it goes.

That's sad man. He really cares about the kids that see him out there. No kids watched Rock man. Well that's depressing

Sure but the same was said for them not finishing it last Mania and they managed to make the story mean even more (and him even hotter). We’ll see how it goes now Last year they didn’t just randomly have him give up the f***ing WrestleMania main event. Right they had him promise a bunch of things, have his family and Brodie Jr. at ringside, and then lose in the same way everyone lost against Roman. And then he was even more over

With last year they had Cody confront Roman the night after, setup a tag match and then Brock attacked him setting up their feud. He was right on his tail immediately not giving up. In this case, Cody called another grown ass man to handle it for him as he decided to face against a broken down man he's already beaten 3 times which one of the times he had a broken pec.
That shit ain't good booking. Even if Rock says that Cody could beat Roman, even if Rock says it ain't for the title, it looks as if Cody bowed out and got help because nobody else in that big ass locker room could have his back against 2 other dudes. It makes all these wrestlers look like shit that they can't hold back a stable of 3 wrestlers and one advocate.

Clearly it's all a distraction. If you're mad about Cody, you're not focused on all the horrific shit Vince did...
If you have a baby brain that can't juggle individual thoughts.

The only thing I could see salvaging it would be Cody/Reigns night 1 and Cody wins the title, the Rock/Reigns night 2 Reigns can win because who cares at that point. Won't happen in the slightest but that's what I got.

Calling back to that, "Cody's story is to both beat Roman and win the belt, saving the princess and killing the dragon are the game goal," post from the other day, forget who posted it but it was a good sum-up, this whole thing really is like if the knight went, "Eh, someone else will take care of it," and went to go save a different princess from an ogre instead because it seems easier.
