I do genuinely struggle to see why you'd still want to support a hero after a failing like this. He was fighting for his family, he had a gameplan, he had all the momentum in the world... and he lost to the same stupid tricks that bite every single other person Roman fights, then he acted all gracious about the loss when by all rights he should have been absolutely pissed, then he just went, "Oh, okay that's fine," when he was denied the rematch he's rightfully owed, then he fell into a painfully obvious trap and got his ass beat for an absurdly long period of time.
What is there to root for? This character is a useless, spineless idiot.

I mean I know some people want to try and defend that Cody isn't a bitch or that the term "Bitch" is overused when it comes to describing a talent who just had miserably shit booking happen to them
... But that's what this all is. Cody lost on the biggest stage, lost via interference he completely ignored, called Roman the better man once again ignoring Solo cost him the match, demanded a world title rematch, got told no, then moped and said "Ok maybe a tag match then?", got Brock as a partner, then got betrayed by Brock because "Reasons", and got his ass kicked for ten f***ing minutes and stretchered out to reported silence
This is some of the worst 48 hours I've seen for a wrestler right on the cusp of something great, this isn't a fumbled bag, this is a fumbled planet, and Cody looks like shit because of it, and I don't give a shit if facing Brock is considered a marquee match, Brock's coming off fighting OMOS... it's really been a low set bar, especially considering Cody's coming off blowing what was laid out to be his entire purpose in coming to the company.
Also if Brock beats Cody, which lets face it, very possible at this point... god help this thread especially lol

In all seriousness it really does feel like spite-booking just to make sure that Cody knows he's WWE's bitch and that they'll send him back to AEW as damaged goods with a smile on their face. Yup, but they don't realize this type of spite booking will hurt them when it comes to poaching others from AEW, Japan, etc. in the future. Who in their right mind who is on the fence about joining the E would trust them after this debacle? Yeah this is even stupider than when they let APA legit beat the shit out of Public Enemy on live TV and say it was because they used to be in WCW

Why the f*** would they do this to a guy who was making bank for them lmao I know it's because they've descended beyond heel territory to Villain Sue land but still god this is catastrophically bad booking. Imagine if they continue f***ing him up so bad as a face that they say he has to go heel now which was seemingly one of the main factors that made him want to leave AEW.

In 2000, he beat down the McMahon family and stood tall with the belt after a quasi weird ending that is too convoluted to finish. In 2001, he put Vince in a sharpshooter until he gave him a rematch. Granted the latter ended in a HHH Power Trip formation so Rock could make Scorpion King, but at least he showed some angry fire. That's what Cody needed to do as you said and well...

Don't forget that Cody began the night by openly admitting that Roman was the better man last night. I think they tried to get too clever with this line. Cody specifically said that Roman was the better competitor, while in the promo leading up to the match Cody said "May the better man win". Roman was the better competitor, he was more willing to do whatever it took to win, while Cody was what he wished for the match, the better man who had the match won before interference. The problem is people aren't going to read that deep into his specific words and combined with everything else, it didn't make him look good.

I would have given the title to Cody at Mania, but it is pretty obvious that Roman isn't losing the title anytime soon, so perhaps it is best to move Cody into a different program until say Summerslam.

I just hope the people who said that Rhodes didn’t struggle enough to earn a world title are happy now.

Then there was the Raw after Rock lost the belt to HHH in the Iron Man Match. That episode was dedicated to the Rock getting payback on the McMahon/Helmsley Regime by attacking them one by one (and the episode where the “Rock hits Vince with a trashcan lid” moment comes from). When’s the last time WWE had a babyface act proactively and got some payback on the baddies?

Hell, they had multiple shows of just, "The Usos go around kicking the shit out of the entire roster because they feel like it," and the ultimate payoff was that Pearce bent the rules to help them keep the tag titles.

After tonight, my relief that Cardona decided to remain on the indys for awhile longer grows by the minute lol Cardona's jacket was the best Cody related moment of the weekend.
