I got so hyped up when I heard the knife swish after the "Bullet Club." Knew that was Jay.

It had to be WWE dropping the ball late, as it made no sense for Jay to cut the feet off his legacy in New Japan just to go to their business partner AEW. Even if he wanted to spend less time in Japan, he could make the occasional trip and work Strong like Juice.

He's also apparently still in Bullet Club, despite Finlay laying him out, so I have to imagine there might be some stuff to fix in New Japan to get him back in there and justify that he's still... well Bullet Club lol

So if Bullet Club is FairPlay, they should bring in Chris Bey and Ace Austin from impact occasionally

He’s fine, I’ve seen him do some really awesome things, but I’ve also had to sit through a boring glorified squash match live when they randomly had him work Rampage last year. In WWE was interested in what they would do with him, but in AEW he’s just another guy. I seriously thought thought he was hugging Kenny in that photo in the first photo I saw, only to realize it was Juice. I went back and watched it, I’m just not interested in seeing him fight Ricky Starks and Action Jackson or whatever the hell his name is.

Andretti hasn't been associated with Ricky for weeks now And Jay was not signed back then so he didn't have any storylines completely tethered to him, that's a very different tone now as he isn't gonna be a New Japan focused guy, he's AEW I don't think focusing on the match with Trent is a good way to judge how he's gonna be used in AEW. Putting him against Ricky is a big feud to start because Ricky's on the upward trend, and tbh those two could kill it not just in ring but on the mic against one another... I hope he turns heads if people are still doubting him.

I wonder how they get around the stips from his last matches because there's no way they don't use him at some point for New Japan crossover. I imagine you could either A: only have him wrestle in AEW-held crossover shows so he's not technically working in New Japan, or B: have him be a cheeky prick and claim that crossover shows don't count, only full New Japan shows do.

Could also be as easy as "If I win my match at Forbidden Door, the stipulations are null and void" and can throw in if he loses, he has to quit AEW as a bonus

You're gonna have to surgically remove my smile.
Predictably the E Drones (Small tangent; This does not refer to nor ever will refer to the WWE fans here) on twitter have done a 180 on him going from obvious future star to "Oh he sucked anyway'.

I think it would've been more interesting to see him in WWE, purely because he's a different to what they have and it's always noteworthy to see how decorated indy guys translate.

I mean he's gonna have to translate anyway, AEW isn't just a place guys can go and be successful, it's weekly TV in front of big crowds and a lot of TV viewers, so we're going to see that regardless I also feel like if the booking regime is gonna go back to where it was before, the indie wrestlers track record of being treated with respect isn't worth the risk, who knows, Jay's still pretty young, maybe some other time, but this increases his stock regardless imo

I love how it was the first thing AEW did on the show. They clearly was like you fans who hated Raw because it lack of a big debut, call up, or a return (Riddle was meh) Here the hottest Free Agent out of the gate. That everyone was hype of the idea of either place of course when he went AEW. Those other guys fans on social media turned on him so fast. I love this signing, he should be a corner stone of this company.
