Please keep in mind that this is not reflective of the show we watched as this was one if not the best tv episode of the year for AEW
877,000 viewers P18-49 rating: 0.30 #6 cable original in P18-49

Slight bump from last week.
The real question will be next week's ratings imo, as this Dynamite was hot and AEW can carry that over.

I wonder if they should have started with the big announcement and had it in the ring. It was in a kind of weird placement.

Imo they shouldnt have let Sammy cut a promo after his match, the crowd didnt give a crap that Sammy had to insult them to get a reaction. JB got booed in his sneak attack on MJF, and Darby probably wouldve been booed if he cut a promo
Hangman vs BCC by themselves is boring due to how this started with Mox and Hangman last year, apparently they will wait for Matt Jackson to heal to resume Elite feud, Callis getting hurt also didnt help matters(I hope Don is feeling better)

Didn't do as well as I'd hoped, but at least it's an increase from last week.

Well if anything, maybe we can be nicer to one another here as it seems WWE and AEW have no influence over the other

I feel like some weeks there just isn't much to learn from a rating. It was a little up. That's all.

Also Meltz brought up a good point that cable is down something like 21% of all households in the US which effects overall numbers. But much like with WWE, if networks are focusing on the demos, and stuff like that? eh more power to em

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Big Bang Theory helps more than some think, if they lead in with over a million, the show just keeps a bigger audience, and the last few ratings? Has been under a million and AEW's numbers which stay relatively consistent, stay around there
The MJF bump is noticeable though, did super well in that segment
Also FTR/Gunns didn't do super numbers but they brought the demo up by the end, this is also something I've been saying that I wish we got minute by minute numbers because I have a feeling the end of the main event got bigger numbers than the average shows.

This seems to be an outlier though as the "announcements" usually cause a decent bump not to mention the FTR situation. I always felt like the last announcement wasn't the draw. It was the lack of NBA games that night which seems to have a huge effect. And I just never saw the FTR angle as anything leading to any sort of business. I think most fans saw it as another angle, nothing more. And main events usually do the worst on the show and I didn't expect this to buck that trend.

Every show I like does that ballpark in ratings, and the ones I don’t, get over a million. So I’m going to start disliking every show!

Very rarely do we see Main Events go up in average (It's usually in the minute by minute that they can rise very high in the last few minutes) The only ones who have really gotten the main event to rise from the previous quarters in viewership have been Vikingo for the sheer spectacle and when Darby Allin main events he has a pretty good track record of raising viewership But more often than not like most of the shows, the main event is always lower than where the show started

Maybe the early viewers are just non-wrestling fans that were watching Big Bang and then they slowly change the channel as the show keeps going? I think the other big 2 hour weekly show Smackdown doesn’t have that big of a drop from hour 1 to hour 2 typically.
