I think they're waiting for her to graduate high school then it'll get announced. Because the chuds will pounce once they hear about AEW hiring someone in high school She's graduated now, iirc gcw commentary said with really good grades and she was valedictorian.

Yeah she graduated earlier in June. Valedictorian, I think they said 4.19 GPA. Wonder if they’re waiting for the Lexington, KY show in August (Billie is from Louisville) to make it official.

She'll be a fun boast to the roster when she becomes semi-full time. Super talented for her age.

AEW commentary mentioned the same thing about graduating as valedictorian during her last match.
Being able to have that high a GPA and graduate as valedictorian while training as a pro wrestler, working the indy circuit, AND even showing up in AEW a couple of times? That's just really damned impressive.

I'm going to sound like a jaded old fogey but my god Billie, protect that neck of yours kid. You only get one.
Some of those bumps to pop a crowd of a few hundred people are insane. I'm happy she's signed so young to AEW for no other reason than hopefully it stops or severely limits her willingness to kill herself to get over.

Good to see Billie Starkz live in EVE today but damn she was being reckless again, she clearly hurt her back on this spot and looked in pain at her merch table during the break, looked to be moving better after the show though. And might as well add a blurry pic I took.

Sometimes I think there's nothing scarier than a talented wrestler with youth on their side. Most people would straight up be passing bone-chips after a bump like that.

Kevin Owens seems to be at war with his own back constantly as well with some of the insane bumps he takes.

X-Pac mentioned the fallacy of trying to give young folks advice and telling them to "slow it down" because the reality is, they never listen. He knows because he WAS that young kid that never listened until he started waking up with a few more bumps and bruises than he remembered.

Thing is, Billie may think she just takes risks, but you don't take risks when you are losing all the time. The chance to win must be there, but it isn't with the bumps she takes. It looks like she just plain hates her body.

While I like that she tries hard in her matches, someone needs to tell her that emulating Darby Allin's and Jeff Hardy's styles won't be worth it long-term.

But then you'll (likely) face the problem Magic mentioned: The youth won't listen to their future. Tony Khan would need to say something like: "Listen. I want to give you a contract, but I won't if you continue to do that shit."

A lot of young people, especially in their late teens and 20's, have a very much "live in the moment" attitude. It's why high schoolers and college students do a lot of stupid shit that make people starting in their 30's go "The f*** you doing?"

Her style has helped her get crazy opportunities for her age, travel the world and probably get an aew contract, from her view why change it? Slow down later. If she was full time Aew Tony could say save it for the big matches and she could think long-term but until then she's got to keep in mind oppurtinities elsewhere. For example it seems there a high chance she'll be facing Utami Hayashishita in GCW.

For example it seems there a high chance she'll be facing Utami Hayashishita in GCW. She is lively and athletic. I think her dangerous bumps didn't put her in the spotlight as much as her signature pose. But maybe I'm just late to the game and it was actually the bumps that gave her the opportunity to show off her more solid qualities. As for my idea that Tony Khan could tell her what to do and what not to do before she gets a contract at AEW - you are right. That was a knee-jerk reaction of mine. The power grab is too big and the wrestlers should not get the impression that they have to be in allegiance to the promoter even before they have any business relationship with them. It would be nice if some wrestlers could be protected from themselves if they don't (yet) understand the consequences of their actions. Whether that's possible wihout risking their freedom is the big question.
