0.21 18-49
639k P2+
Good enough to be #7 for the night.
This is the best Rampage has done in a long, long time. Probably helped by a very strong lead-in of an NBA play-in game (which was #2 for the night at .76 demo and ~2.26 million P2+) and a slightly earlier start time.

It feels like Rampage has also been consistently more fun those last weeks.(not gonna say that the lack of Jay & Friends helped...but Im gonna float that idea)

It's amazing it still did that strong given the end of the game to the start of Rampage was like 15 minutes of commercials lol
Happy for it though, people keep saying this is a useless show or they can get rid of it if Collision is on the way and I just don't agree, it's a fun hour of pro wrestling and stuff does advance there

Obviously the lead in helped but it's always good to get more eyes on the product. I'm really curious how Rampage does after the playoffs. That's really when the show landed in its current pattern last year but the past month has shown that the show can do solid numbers every so often and it looks like they've stopped bleeding viewers. Even with a third show, there are ways to keep it interesting.

I love the Best Friends and I respect Aussie Open, but...this really, really illustrates why the ratings talk is often about what else is on TV that night and the lead-in and how factors outside of the show have a bigger effect on the show than the actual content. Because if it were 100% AEW's booking, then one of their most-watched matches would not be a lower midcard team challenging an outsider team for NJPW titles with no build-up, angle, or realistic chance of a title change.

Oh I agree I just posted it cause Aussie Open are having fun with it on twitter.. Though I do think The Best Friends have traditionally been good for ratings

Though I do think The Best Friends have traditionally been good for ratings I remember the Best Friends being really bad for ratings, like they were a consistent drop like SCU...until they weren't. Somewhere in the pandemic they just stopped being a drag and started doing just fine or really well. I think it correlated with the Santana & Ortiz feud and Orange getting a push. ...man, I miss the Best Friends having big feuds with awesome blow-offs. That was something they really specialized in. Hope the House of Black feud can go that way.

Best Friends Vs Santana and Ortiz is the best tag feud AEW have done.

Why would you not book a stronger show with this lead in?

Why would you not book a stronger show with this lead in? Yeah, I guess it's a little bit hard on them but it's true - with all those eyes on the start of the show you'd think they should've sent out some of their big stars.

They probably had no clue what the actual start time of the show would be or expected the lead-in to be that strong, so they booked what wasn't a very strong card on-paper.
Likely not a mistake they'll make a second time.
