I know he's been selling merch but I think Cody has become a legit ratings draw at this point.
These are even better numbers than they were doing in the build to Mania. I was expecting numbers to go down a bit, not even in a "people are so pissed Cody lost and will tune out" way, but even if he won because just generally Mania season is the peak then like 10-20% of people dip out until the next big PPV cycle or special episode. Putting aside the night after Mania because that's always going to be big no matter what but .59 and .58 in the following weeks are some of the best numbers for "regular" Raws in years.
Repeating what I said in another post yesterday but I think they can easily keep him hot enough until Summerslam with the Brock feud then maybe MITB but if they don't give him the title at SS I think it'll be a real struggle if they plan to stretch it all the way to next Wrestlemania. Summerslam is perfect. It gets Roman past the 1000 day mark which they seem to think is a major deal and Summerslam will seem like a mega event were big stuff happens if you choose to end this historic Roman run there.

Business just seems really good for them right now in general. House show attendance is still up, ratings seem decent, there's still a buzz around things. I'm not thrilled with how they handled Cody at Mania and he looked not great the night after, but this week seemed to suggest Cody's ascension into Bitchhalla might not totally be a done deal yet.

I know people are upset how we got here, but Brock vs Cody is a fresh fued between two massive stars. And the Bloodline continues to be over.

Yeah, he's also drawing great crowds to house shows which is a business revenue that seemed to be nearly dead a few years back. Meltzer has always said that historically if business is going to go up or down in any noticeable way it's always weekly ticket sales trends that it shows up in first, months before ratings will be affected. He called Raw pulling ahead of Nitro like 6 months before it happened. He predicted in 2021 that Dynamite was going to beat Raw sometime soon and it happened a couple times. He was predicting a year ago when Dynamite was still riding high doing a million viewers and high 30 demos that a ratings drop is on the way because he noticed their average attendance numbers were going down and a few months later he was proven right. He was also right about WWE ratings going up. Most people attribute WWE getting hotter with HHH taking control last summer but Meltzer predicted it months earlier around last years Wrestlemania when he noticed house show numbers going up. What I'm saying is Dave Meltzer is basically wrestling Nostradamus.
