Sherri Shepard's show is still going but then Sherri says she's the sole writer in the show and was never a WGA member. So I'm guessing she's fine.

On the other hand, I’m sure some of that has to do with the fact he very knew clearly all those writers who “aren’t entitled to a living” were going to give him a hard time if it started. Along with, you know, everyone else jumping in the pool before him. EDIT: Also, citing that negotiations are back on as a reason to delay knowing that had been announced days ago? Yeah, sure, go with that. |

I will give Bill this much: as late as this morning, I was willing to bet cash money that he would be the one holdout to actually make it to television a scab. Boy am I lucky I was rushing this morning and didn't make that post, or I'd have egg on my face right now.
All that said, it's wild that a guy whose guests are mostly C-listers who've made their one NYT bestseller or couple of Emmys a personality trait came that close to just saying "f*** the strikers". Good luck scoring Andrew Ross Sorkin as the "writers aren't owed a living guy".

I kind of suspect Bill's been workshopping material and trying to book guests, and discovered both his material and his attempts to find credible people willing to scab went over like a fart in an elevator. Even Bill Maher doesn't trust Bill Maher to improvise a funny show and to keep the kind of guests that would be willing to cross picket lines in line.

I can't help but feel we were robbed of Bill Maher dying live on air after making jokes about when his lazy butler washes his sock garters and they're still covered with schmutz, while a panel of Fox hosts, Manosphere gurus and Tulsi Gabbard chuckle awkwardly in the background .
