On the one hand, this is a great show of unity from the members of SAG and an excellent way to counter recent stories.
On the other…the f*** is all this their responsibility? It’s great they’re giving money but the richest actor is dwarfed dozens of times over by even the smallest multi billion dollar company who are skimping their responsibility of going back to the table and making this deal happen so everyone can get back to work.

Nice to see the "restless A-listers" that were "pressuring SAG-AFTRA" were actually stepping up to help.

Rumors are it might not happen which, as sucky as that might be, makes sense.
It’s not George Clooney’s job to cover for multi-billion dollar companies. It just isn’t.

Not even taking it at you but royalties only mean so much when so many other things are on the table like AI, streaming and other stuff.

So, to summarise: SAG-AFTRA: "We're asking for 2%, and we feel that's fair." Studios: "That's not fair at all! Please reconsider." SAG-AFTRA: "Okay, how does 1% sound?" Studios:

It’s the key to negotiations; let people go high, ask for lower to find middle ground, walk out when you get lower because that’s apparently bad too. I'm almost staggered that SAG-AFTRA literally cut their demand – which was absurdly minimal to begin with – in half, and it's still deemed "excessively high" by the studios. They honestly want SAG-AFTRA to settle for a fraction of a percent.

That is lead actress of the new Scorsese movie Killers of the Flower Moon on the picket like on the very day the film is released.

The question has already been asked in a way a few pages ago, but I must ask again: are the studios just that greedy, or has streaming turned out to be that big of a bust?

It's like being limited at a restaurant to a half cup of water and plain burger while they get a steak, baked potato and bottle of wine

The answer is more likely that they don’t want actors to find out either way, especially since it’s bad enough in their minds writers will now for stuff.

Just as a bit of a follow up from this… Are the rules silly? Yeah, a bit but I can get the logic in that you don’t want to give them a free promo but “Get back to the table?” The studios left the table because they threw a strop about sharing any kind of royalties with actors. Tell them to get back to the table because it’s not like the actors can negotiate with themselves, can they?!

There might not be another chance to keep AI or of Hollywood.

By the time three years comes up, they’ll probably be too late on that, better working conditions and protections that also involve AI being used etc. Like, look, I get the annoyance but this is pretty much the most important actors strike since the first one to involve TV airing royalties. There is no going back if this goes wrong.

I’ll admit, way quicker than I thought it would be.
Fran, make sure to lock the doors before you go in there.

Serious question, has she been on the picket lines or speaking to press about why actors deserve a fair contract? If she hasn't, I'm a need her to redirect her energy elsewhere
