“There’s no other reason why this awesome deal was passed over. Nope. Not at all. It’s aaaaallllll good.” Ironic, in a very sinister way, that he would use the term "virtually" considering the major point of contention between the studios and the union. I seriously hope the actors didn't give an inch on AI. The fact that the studios figured something as universally reviled as digital necromancy was a hill worth dying on tells you exactly how they intend to use the technology.

AI should be scrapped and forgotten about under threat of being tied up and made to watch The Indian scenes and song from Peter Pan.

I hope this is a good deal for the actors. Massive AI protections and huge streaming increases, so it sounds like it

I really hope these AI protections are substantial.

I really hope these AI protections are substantial. The reports are saying they are, like that was actual wordage used, so it sounds like it was a huge rewrite from the LAST AND FINAL OFFER.

If all of this is true, I’d like to congratulate the AMPTP for going into negotiations for deals that would be worth around a combined, say, $100m and coming out with two easily preventable strikes at a combined 266 days and deals worth over $1bn.
Two real slam dunks for your organization, I’m sure the studios are estatic.

Apparently the studios lost about $3 billion total from this strike. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Apparently the studios lost about $3 billion total from this strike. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. So that’s $4bn in total and an organization that’s shown they’re unprepared for the next two re-negotiations next year with TAG and the IATSE. Bravo, Carol. Good stuff.

I'm assuming that getting what they want will mean AI is limited to stuff like the AI Mark Hamill in Mandalorian

I'm assuming that getting what they want will mean AI is limited to stuff like the AI Mark Hamill in Mandalorian I assume a big thing is they cannot use AI without permission of the actor or the estate if they are deceased, if they sign off and get paid for it? Fair game, but trying to simply use it whenever they wanted is literally trying to phase out the need for the actor and any free will they may have of their likeness, like some futuristic apocalypse shit lol

I’ll keep the thread open because they’ll still be a vote that will determined whether the proposed agreement becomes a permanent one so we could end up coming back to this but as of right now, both strikes are over.

Numerous films are resuming production very soon, including Deadpool 3, Venom 3, Gladiator 2, Beetlejuice 2, the "Wicked" movie starring Ariana Grande, The Minecraft Movie, and presumably many more.
