With the resurgence recently of the LWO, the addition of WCW characters to the WWE2k games, WCW having their own line of merch on WWE Shop, and all the WCW figures being created by Mattel do you think that the WWE should finally acknowledge the success of WCW? Hell they still make a TON of money off the nWo merch and have brought back WCW legends like Sting and Goldberg for nostalgia runs (even though they kinda dropped the ball with Sting). I just saw on Smackdown people in the crowd wearing WCW hats. It's just weird that they sell WCW as an inferior product but it continues to be a money maker for them.

I believe this is their "having cake and also eating said cake" strategy.

It's way past time they admitted it. WCW had its own problems, but no worse than WWF/WWE at times. But the victor writes the history books, so here we are.

I wish they would start admitting that ECW sucked You know you love Shane Douglas' 40 min. classics as TV Champion. Christ almighty, no! Lol. Seriously. Watch an ECW ppv, half the shows are in ring promos and introductions. People complain about padding on WWE shows but holy shit. Lance Storm comes out with three people in his crew, then Candido comes out with three people in HIS crew. The ring announcer gives weights, hometown and nickname intros to the guys in the match AND every single person in their crew. THEN, each guy cuts a promo in ring! It takes a dogs age to get to one match!!

Towards the end WCW kind of did suck though. Sure they had some good ideas like the LWO but go watch what they actually did with it. LMAO.

It takes a dogs age to get to one match!! The 2000 PPVs that would open with long Cyrus/Don Callis segments were the worst. I usually think the term go-away heat is overused but if it exists I'm pretty sure that was an example. He was all over the shows, cutting long promos then he'd commentate the rest of the show and spend the whole time trashing Joey Styles/Joel Gertner and the babyfaces. It was basically heel Michael Cole a decade early. Although at least Cole had a hot feud with Lawler that was doing good ratings. I'm pretty sure network representative Cyrus wasn't drawing any ratings or money for all the time he got.

I wish they would start admitting that ECW sucked Seriously. Admittedly, I didn't watch ECW before it showed up on TNN, but even then I felt it wasn't very good. It wasn't because it felt small time compared to the competition, but just the overall approach was just incredibly bland, and I was never going to get on board for guys like Tommy Dreamer or Justin Credible. I did like Tajiri and Rhino though. About a year after WWE had won the Monday Night Wars, there was this weird push I started seeing regarding ECW as a brand and how great of a product it was. Based on what I saw in 1999-2000, I didn't agree, but I was able to come across a good amount of ECW content. There were a few decent moments, but it was no better than your average wrestling program, in fact in most cases it was worse. I would say it was 20% good, 80% bad. Never was a fan of the cruder elements of the programs, simply because it felt more like it was there to stir controversy versus punctuate the story. Cheap heat, especially with heels making homophobic promos toward the crowd. Any highlight reel that WWE puts out will give you most of the good moments, and none of the bad ones.

They always tended to show love to the cruisers in their docs so that counts for something.

The only way I'm paying $400 for that is if it comes with every WCW wrestler and half of them have alien antennas so that I can act out Disco Inferno's proposed Martian invasion storyline.

Is it time for us to admit that No Way Jose’s dance parties were tons of fun and didn’t suck?

Because when you think WCW you think of Ultimate Warrior. Seriously, they couldnt put Nash or Hall or Savage or Goldberg or Booker T or even Luger in there?

I know this is a hot take because people really like that moment on Raw when it happened but ECW playing a big part of the Invasion story helped water that down even more. I know they were in a bind because they refused to pay up for WCW big name contracts but ECW being presented as being the same level of threat to WWF as WCW is a joke.

They've used every excuse over the years as to why WCW was kicking their ass from 95-98 but the simple truth was that at the time Nitro was just the better show and WCW was the better product.
