Well, sounds like Darby's gonna do it.
I mean, I'm happy for him, and good luck and all that.

Me to Darby after that promo At least he wasn't going last year I suppose, I believe there will be new safety measures after how many people died on Everest in 2023.

Darby literally cut an "In case I don't make it back" promo tonight, harrowing, but it's something he wants to do
All we can hope is he does it and returns home safely after he has his Jay White match, but the dude is likely gonna be wrestling that Jay match like it's his last
Also might be why he did that glass spot too, all things considered, he's going all out like he's not gonna do it again and well... I really hope he comes back and can do it again lol

I simply do not understand the obsession so many have with Everest. Could never be me.

It says the death rate is 1% and he’s a pretty fit dude, why is everyone expecting him to die?

It says the death rate is 1% and he’s a pretty fit dude, why is everyone expecting him to die? Dude spoke earnestly about the risk and how he felt about it. It's a lot like how a lot of people get about surgeries: they know it's a high success rate, but acknowledging the failure rate is both necessary and nerve wracking.

I simply do not understand the obsession so many have with Everest. Could never be me. To put poor sherpas though huge hardships in order to give people a stupid accomplishment to brag about? A third of the dead bodies on Everest are sherpas and the majority are because of stupid tourists that need a “thrill”.

jokes aside uhhhh www.forbes.com/sites/blakeoestriecher/2023/11/15/aew-star-darby-allin-talks-climbing-mount-everest-sting-and-more/amp/“I have zero mountain experience, like, zero. I don’t even know what I’m doing,” Allin laughed. “I just signed up, and I’ve got 6 months to train to climb Mount Everest.” The trainers Allin hired to complete his ascent—from an adventure company based in New Zealand called Adventure Consultants—told Allin that training for such a short span to climb Mount Everest is “unheard of,” with most who climb Everest training for years or even dedicating their lives to it. Allin recalled a scary moment on his recent training expedition in France and the reality of how one mistake could have cost him his life. After spending the night in a hut with no power, a blizzard forced Allin and his trainer to return to the top of a ski mountain, navigating a treacherous slope in the midst of a blizzard despite having virtually no training. “We ended having to hike back, and on the side of a mountain, it’s literally only two feet wide. Fall off one side, you’re for sure dead. If you fall of the other side, you’re for sure dead,” Allin explained. “The whole time, I’ve just got the biggest smile on my face because I live for this.”

Adventure Consultants is one of the Everest outfitters that's been around forever, so he's definitely going with pretty much the best and most experienced you can get. That being said, *both* founding members of that company died in mountaineering accidents, and one of those was in the '96 Everest disaster that got Into Thin Air written about it, so, um, yeah.

That promo was very worrying. I hope Darby knows what he is doing and is prepared. Good luck to him.

It says the death rate is 1% and he’s a pretty fit dude, why is everyone expecting him to die? Because he’s crazy and it’s a dangerous place?

I simply do not understand the obsession so many have with Everest. Could never be me. I get, there is not much "adventure" in the modern days. Climbing mountains is the closest it gets to having a real adventure. At least Darby started training with smaller mountain

I’m a touch religious and don’t mean to offend those who aren’t, but I’m praying for my guy, so he can have his Jeff Hardy title run when he gets back (Swerve be damned lol)

That Forbes article somehow made me hate Darby more. Me too. That whole region exploits underpaid sherpas for a thrill. Those mountains shouldn't be climbed there are somethings people shouldn't mess with.
