Iโd argue that the DC universe has gotten way over saturated by Batman The new 52 only had like 40 bat books that's not over saturated<_<

Some of the people who work on the show acknowledged this. It was originally intended to be centered on Bart. However, they started to run low on ideas and came to the realization that with Homer there were far more stories they could tell due to him being an adult who was not necessarily the brightest. shame they only seem to come up with the same few stories, Homer gets fired then gets his old job back, Homer and Marge are looking like they're splitting up but dont, Homer is suddenly good at doing something then screws it up, Homer learns something new about one of his kids and it's never brought up again, Homer meets celebrity of the week, Homer breaks the time continuum explaining how anyone in Springfield never ages and him and Marge manage to be mid to late teens in the 70's, 80's, 90's (soon to be early 2000's) all at the same time. I always felt that at some point The Simpsons should've done a time skip. Right after the movie would've been perfect actually. Just have Bart and Lisa as teenagers in High School, with Maggie now a Grade School student so we can keep the Springfield Elementary characters around. Then the characters can start earnestly exploring things like dating, employment, etc. in ways that you just can't do for an eight and ten year old. Instead Simpsons decided to just stick with "status quo is God" and, in their defense, I can't see the transition not being greeted by fan and critic pushback. Iโd argue that the DC universe has gotten way over saturated by Batman The new 52 only had like 40 bat books that's not over saturated<_< I've been hearing that the DCU is oversaturated with Bat books for more than 25 years now. The more things change I guess.

Lucky started out as basically just a background character on King of The Hill, but gradually we wound up with entire episodes centered on him. Tom Petty by no means did a bad job of voicing him, but it felt like they ran out of ideas and were trying stretch as much material as they could from a character that didn't need to. Hoo boy ain't that the truth. For all the criticisms that people foist on Peggy-centric episodes (and for what it's worth, I don't agree with those criticisms), I've yet to find one good episode where Luanne/Lucky have the A-plot.

Another one that comes to mind: They made six more Fifth Element movies? Wow, Leeloo really changed her look!

Another one that comes to mind: I mean, to be fair, she was sleeping with the directorโฆ.. Honestly though, she was the lead character from the start, so I get the movies focusing on her despite the fact that I donโt actually recall if she ever showed up in any of the games. The first movie lifted the concepts but used a unique cast to differentiate from the games. If anything, the ham-handed way they tried to shoehorn the lead characters from the games was a bit off putting to those who only watched the movies. It just wasnโt done naturally.

NOBODY in those movies was competent except for Alice.

OMG it is Leon and Ada, who just stand around all movie and I think get killed offscreen after the ending of Retribution

Regular Show was becoming extremely Muscle Man-centric by Season 4, thankfully they toned that down in later seasons.

Yep, they were just used as fan service...as well, as to just stand there in awe, as Alice just did everything & killed all the monsters, as she became pretty much a demi-god, at one point.

Yeah, he had a shit ton of episodes for a while or if the episode wasn't centered around him he was a major focus You would thought them going to Space in the last season would have been the jump the shark the moment but it allowed them to be more grounded with the focus more on Pops

Popeye went from a one-note character in a Thimble Theatre strip to being the focus of the entire comic. Likely for the best, honestly. Ham Gravy sucks, and Olive Oyl's dynamic is honestly funner with Popeye than Ham. Ham's a shitty boyfriend in a way that tended to lead to the same jokes, whereas Popeye's sometimes oafish but a much more inherently decent person so you get what Olive sees in him.

then later they did it again with Deadpool >_> Though Deadpool usually pointed out he was only there to sell more copies >_> Then DC did it with Harley Quinn. I at least get why they did it with Harley, since they had a popular character who, to that point, had largely been defined by Joker and Poison Ivy, and dearly needed her own thing going on, too. Which, in execution, largely amounted to "Be Tank Girl", but it was something, at least.

"Codependent crazy woman with toxic relationships..." for a long time.

The first couple of Pirates of the Caribbean films had Jack Sparrow sharing a lot of the plot with characters like Will, Elizabeth, Norrington, Gibbs, and others. After that, the films become the Jack Sparrow show which coincides with their drop in quality and the loss of Depp's once great acting skills; after playing JS he started using the same range in every role and became unwatchable, probably due to Depp's addiction problems but I wonder if it was some Twilight Zone-eques him getting consumed by the character malarkey.

I loved the original Dragon Ball, then I mostly liked the Frieza arc, then I slowly stopped caring. It is too focused on Goku and the scope is too big. It was easy to pick a favorite in the original Dragon Ball and be happy with their placing with very few exceptions. But as a fan of Tenshinhan and some lesser characters, there is nothing left for me.

He had certain characters that he would return to. I never saw Ed Wood until years later but him as Ed Wood and him as Willy Wonka are basically the same person. He voices them the same way.

The Simpsons in its early days felt like Bart was meant to be the front and center character. Then the episodes at the tail end of the golden era and the beginning of the next one felt like they were really focusing on Homer more than anyone else. Some of the people who work on the show acknowledged this. It was originally intended to be centered on Bart. However, they started to run low on ideas and came to the realization that with Homer there were far more stories they could tell due to him being an adult who was not necessarily the brightest. I also saw this as their acknowledging that the fandom grew up, so may as well focus on the adults.

This might be stretching, but...when Animaniacs moved to Kids' WB and became the Warners and Slappy Show. (and its cousin, the reboot being the Warners/Pinky and the Brain Show)

I've fallen way off the South Park wagon, but it needed about 80% less Randy Marsh when I stopped watching. And considering they spent half a season on "Tegridy Farms", I can't imagine that's changed.
I think it's so funny how one of their big sticking points in the Family Guy/Seth McFarlane "feud" was how little character there was to people and how you could just plug any situation to anyone with minimal creativity, and yet that's literally all Randy is. The only difference between him and Peter Griffin is a couple hundred pounds.
