SRS said it's "possible" that a new tv deal is announced at the WBD Upfronts, but believes it could be much later this year. He believes the framework of it is done and that it's been done for almost a year

For context, this is the actual Forbes reporting, not the paid contributor portion that our old friend Alfred Konuwa writes for.

All snark aside, already being more valuable than ONE is actually pretty huge for AEW. That's Asia's biggest MMA promotion and easily the big standout as far as a real alternative to the UFC. That is very incredible growth for a relatively young promotion. That wrestling so easily clears all of boxing? Even bigger.

It's actually kind of crazy when you think about it WWE's been around decades and is close to 7 billion... AEW's been around 5 YEARS, through a PANDEMIC... and is already at 2 billion I don't think it'll ever pass WWE, but it does show just how much it's actively accomplishing and why Warner yknow, is infatuated with them

Even if there is a smaller core of AEW fans I feel like individually we spend a lot of time and money on the product. Unfortunately for me (but good for AEW financially) advertisers want to advertise with companies that have a loyal following that is willing to spend.

It is also crazy to think how much higher AEW's financial ceiling is. Hopefully TK reinvests his next media rights money into a strong promotions/marketing department, a more robust live events merch system and strategic partnerships.

Collision should move to whatever weekday is left once RAW, NXT, and SmackDown figure their days out. Saturday isn't a death slot but I think it could do better in a weeknight.

It’s doing well for the slot it has but, yeah, better to see what Netflix, CW and USA decide before picking a potential new spot. And I can understand TK’s stance on loyalty if that’s the case. Especially for how much WBD has allowed for cross promotion and also creative access to programming and such.

I think another problem you run into with moving Collision is just that like Wednesday is kind of an incredibly awkward night to have to schedule around. You stick it on Thursday you're running shows three days in a row, you stick it on Tuesday you have a show you tend to position as important in its own right the day before your A-show. At least with WWE doing that they've kind of traditionally made the Tuesday show, be it NXT or ECW, firmly the #3 product you're not really supposed to follow as closely as you are Raw.

OK, but no matter what day they move to, they need to keep "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting", just with a Text-to-Speech voice of its new night overtop of "Saturday".

Just don’t put AEW content on Netflix. The stock price is collapsing this morning. Yikes!

On the other hand, Collision kinda held its own against college football and even the NFL playoffs on Saturdays. What also helps is that the Thursday games are Amazon Prime Video-only except in the local markets.
Though if you're trying to avoid NFL and WWE competition, your days are pretty limited if you have more than one show. Especially as the NFL looks to continue to try and get even more days for regular games beyond Sunday, Monday, and Thursday.
