My only problem now is my attention span isn’t great so find it harder and harder to invest in new albums as much as I did when I bought CD’s in the 2000’s. I still try to listen to new albums as much as I can but it’s not the same experience anymore.
I’m not going to complain about todays kids not knowing Pink Floyd or The Beatles or whatever because I didn’t care about that stuff when I was a kid or teenager. When I got Kerrang TV I thought Guns N Roses & Def Leppard were ‘Old’ bands compared to Limp Bizkit, Slipknot and the rest of Nu Metal.

I don’t know if it’s the kids I know, but people under 25 don’t know who ANYONE is and they have access to everything. This isn’t some crazy rant, I don’t mean they’ve never heard of the Beatles, I mean they look at you like you made them up. If it didn’t happen this century, they have no idea. I mean, I’ve never seen Gone with the Wind, but I know it exists. Yesterday someone mentioned System of a Down to a girl and I said “She has no idea what that is” she said “No, I don’t”. System of a Down had the height of their popularity over 20 years ago. Unless a young person is an avid metal fan, it's unlikely they will know who SOAD are. Time passes on, we get old, and the music of our youth isn't always gonna be the talk of the town. Just gotta accept that.

I think they’re the shittest band in history, so I’m envious more than anything.

I think a friend of mine put it best when another friend was going on about a girl in work who had never heard of Frank Oz. "You've got to understand...other people have different interests as us"
