Orton has ended up as a net positive for the industry but it did take a while
He will be a loss to WWE and is one of the last guys they have who feels like a star
That said I am more shocked that the OP chose Cena as his final opponent if he has one more match??? Things really have changed since 2011 I love both guys but never want to see that shit again

Orton was/is definitely a star and someone whose work is very highly thought of in the business, but probably just misses out on going down as an ATG. WWE propaganda will try its best to fix that, but he was involved in far too many turgid feuds, has too few classic angles or matches. I'm not sure where he slots in but I think it's an open question. All the talent in the world though (except on the mic), just not used properly.

Randy's biggest obstacle at being called an all time great is the fact that he didn't care like 90% of the time and it showed...

Looks like one of two things is going to happen tonight - Randy either hits someone with an RKO out of nowhere, or he announces his retirement. Let's hope its the former.

Orton was the last superstar to debut while the company was still named WWF.
The company has now been WWE longer that it was WWF.
The first two to debut under the WWE name? On the very same Smackdown it was Cena and Batista.
Just some interesting perspective.

So another 2 or so years.

I was REALLY hoping for him, being the legend he now is, to be attacked by younger wrestlers, much like he attacked others as the "Legend Killer" when he started. It's the only appropriate way for him to go out.

One of the best. One of my all time faves. It will be such a shame if he can’t go out on his own terms but obviously his health comes first. For the last 20 years, he’s always been ‘there’ so he will be a big loss for the wwe & me personally.

Not gonna lie, I was generally bored by him and never really saw the hype. However, I can't deny that he was a big star and a lot of people loved him. In the end I just hope he's healthy.
