I feel inclined to side with the doctors. He's had a long life.

Not to make it sound bleak or uncaring (on the contrary coming from a very caring place) but I think it may be time to let him go. Sounds like he has already suffered quite a bit with a good life already lived. And even if he were to "pull through with this" what would his life look like going forward?

Sounds like he has already suffered quite a bit with a good life already lived. And even if he were to "pull through with this" what would his life look like going forward? I think that's the best way to view it given his age and medical history. Someone in my extended family made a similar decision for themselves (it wasn't life support, I don't think, but they weren't hitting enough oxygen and weren't permitted to leave ICU until they could). They recognized that even if they could get him to where he needed to be medically, his quality of life would still suffer and he'd likely face the same situation again. I understand the situations aren't perfectly parallel, but I think the point is still valid. If Graham isn't in a position to decide for himself, I hope that those around him seriously consider what his future would look like if they keep him on.

It's from Ric Flair's witter account so take it with a grain of salt but Superstar has passed away.

come to think of it, sans Georgeous George, was Graham the first big "character" of the industry?

The most important wrestler of his generation, strictly when it came to out of the ring aspects such as look and promo. So many people influenced by people influenced by him it's a little difficult to grasp. Only Santo in Mexico and Rikidozan in Japan were on his level in their respective regions

Its hard to overstate how much of the modern confident heel promo was pioneered by Billy Graham. Especially in a territory like the WWWF, where promos could often be on the dry side, the man was an oasis of charisma and magnetism and his stuff still stands out now.
RIP Superstar.

R.I.P. Superstar Billy Graham. My earliest memories of him are his 1986 comeback. This now means that Bob Backlund is the earliest WWE champion still living.

Bob Backlund will outlive me and I'm like 40 years younger than he is.

RIP...can't deny his influence. Unfortunately he said some off-color stuff in later years, but I won't dwell on that now. I can't say more than anyone else did about his character and what it inspired in later decades.
