All I know for sure is Jey Vs Roman is definitely coming up down the line. Prob at SS. Even last night, they made it a point to put the “He’ll fall in line” part on TV. I loved that line and the look he had on his face like part of him still believes he will fall in line but mostly he's shit scared and knows this is actually the time his gaslighting won't work. Roman cutting mini-promos off mic while he's walking to the back is becoming like its own genre. I loved his "I'm tired of being humble" one a few months back too. IMO I think Roman is the GOAT heel. Granted I never seen Flair or Piper in their heydays since I was born in 92 but I can’t think of anyone else that would compete

Dude beat cancer and still gets most crowds to hate him. I dunno what happened. I dunno if it was just switching to heel, getting his confidence, those f***ing teeth, or Cena’s theory that the Thunderdome Era opened up something in Roman, but it’s just been incredible work in every capacity.

Dude also blends in with what a bad guy would be on a tv series. Like he reminds me of a Breaking Bad villain like Gus Fringe or Lalo Salamanca. Charming, yet also dangerous

I have no idea about his current contract, but I think it's near time to introduce Jacob Fatu to the Bloodline story. Roman should bring him in, knowing he won't be able to control him but he needs him to counteract the Uso's.

The heel work is something he wanted to come back and I think bringing in Heyman to help with input has been a stroke of genius for him. For as long as Roman has been THE GUY he never had that run with the belt like an Ace. This heel run has his and Heyman fingerprints all over it and for Roman even tho he's only like 38, my assumption is he was going into this as his last full time run before stepping back Roman is big time over. He can turn face tomorrow and fans will cheer him but for how long this story has been they have fans still grasped to them

I think it's just the case of finding the right character. It's not unlike Seth who bombed as a face, then get mega-over as a heel by being the messiah with the wacky outfits, and he's maintained it after turning back again. I can't be bothered to fully research it, but there's probably something in guys getting a character over as a heel first and then turning face with it - Austin, The Rock, HHH, Taker even Daniel Bryan. Playing a heel is easier and guys feel more comfortable doing it.

Yeah, Roman's character work even won me over some time back. The title reign is dragging him down for me, but the Head of the Table persona...no one else could play this role as well as Roman. Mannerisms, delivery, facial expressions, trash talking. He exudes confidence in every facet of this character, and I gotta respect that. And maybe it's since there's a light at the end of the tunnel (*fingers crossed*) I can stop being so annoyed, and just appreciate the character he's bringing on what looks like his last full time run. Kinda makes you mad Vince wasted so many of his peak years trying to shoehorn him into being something he's not. We could've had this a long time ago.

Past Jimmy getting a title shot at MITB, I am good. I don't really want the Bloodline break up main eventing Summerslam over a Cody vs Reigns match, but it looks like that is what we are getting.

Have to say, I genuinely can't recall a storyline where they've been able to heat it up, it cools, then they somehow find a way to heat it up as much again like this one. Like, I've been watching (intensely to begin with then mostly casually) for about 30 years now and I've seen some very hot angles in WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, and AEW...but not the longevity and the way it gets hot again like this one does. The NWO should have been able to do it. That could easily have had multiple peaks even after Starrcade 1997. The Wolfpac/Nash were so over but they didn't even do a big Hogan/Nash match in spring 98 when people were dying for it. A proper Wolfpac v Hollywood war games could have been big too. Hell, even if they still went through with the full NWO reunion/fingerpoke of doom they still had potential for a big moment with Goldberg fighting through them all for months before getting the title back from Hogan but they ended up turning Hogan face and basically disbanding the group before doing any of that.

It does not matter a damn how good your storytelling is when you know precisely how the match it is leading up to will end.

Most people expected Drew to beat him, a few thought Sami could, everyone and their dog was picking Cody to win. The idea this has been super predictable and everyone always knew how it would go is completely wrong.

Mmm. Like that, or, say, nWo Silver & Black forming at the end of 1999 and suddenly being just as big as the original nWo. Unlike what actually happened, and tends to happen with so many once white-hot angles.

Sure, there has been a lot of filler matches you knew Roman would win, but there have been times when you thought he’d actually lose by now.

I don't even agree that knowing the outcome makes something filler. I knew Sami wasn't beating Roman but in no way was that match filler. It was one of the biggest matches of the year. I knew MJF was winning at DoN but it wasn't filler. The only title matches Roman's had during this reign I'd describe as filler are the Goldberg match at one of the Saudi shows and the first KO Rumble match in the thunderdome. All his other PPV title matches have felt huge and/or had a great story.

I don’t care what anyone says, as far as WWE only not wrestling as a whole Roman is in the top 4 greatest of all time only behind Austin, Hogan, and Cena.

There’s a lot of ways you can look at this, but Roman’s story is absolutely incredible: Shows up with two other rookies wrecking shit and promising to be the future. His “chosen one” era, pushed and rejected by by the audience. Spends years feuding with Brock and Paul Heyman from underneath as an underdog. Is publicly eviscerated by the former face of the company in a shoot. Leaves due to Leukemia with his shield boys at his side.. ..Beats f***ing Leukemia, turns heel, joins the man whose Beast he struggled with for years and now we’re here. Total 180 from before, swag, acting delivery, on the mic, in the ring, with fans etc. Roman’s gonna go down as one of the tippy-top GOATs. Guaranteed.

Including his time in The Shield it's hard to argue that Roman isn't already one of the greats.
Which is not what I was expecting because face Roman was so boring to me he was almost a channel-changer.

It does not matter a damn how good your storytelling is when you know precisely how the match it is leading up to will end. 40 million views on last Friday's segment very much disagree with your statement. Record business for the company disagrees. Sold out crowds left and right disagree.
