I see the argument that “the business has moved on from the One main guy booking philosophy” Has it? Roman is clearly the end all be all in the company and everything but flows through him and business is way up. There's this bubble were Cody is a bitch and the Bloodline needs to end but somehow in the real world Cody is the most popular babyface in wrestling and the Bloodline is the hottest story in years with people still eating it up. I've seen some disconnects between the IWC and the general audience over the years but not usually this big. People can also just personally not be into the story, like it's not for me but I can acknowledge I'm an outlier without doing any IWC hivemind business. Hell even on here I feel like it's mostly positive to the angle.

It can both be true that WWE is still pretty hot right now (most shows are doing better ticket sales than their last time there and ratings are generally up year over year) and the Bloodline story itself is less hot. The ratings are still good mind you but SmackDown's numbers peaked when Sami faced Jey in the main event and there's been a noticeable drop since. RAW has also been sliding in total viewers (although it is skewing younger which is good). Are there other reasons for that? Yes - sports is giving everyone competition. But it's also the case that WWE created this groundswell of interest from January to March with the Sami/Cody/Roman angle and it's largely still there but there are also people who have started watching less week to week. It’s the time of the year. They’re still as hot, at least on Raw. I think I saw the demo increase for Raw year over year was larger in April and May than the previous months.

I don't buy that it's the time of year. WWE was hotter last summer than it was during last year's Mania season. Meltzer has noted they started heating up in May and that's not unusual. Increases in business don't always coincide with Mania. And as I mentioned, they're still hot. I just see evidence that we might have seen the peak if they don't find a new twist in the tale that gets the crowd invested like they were earlier this year.

They typically go up for Rumble to Mania season then dip for the summer months, then dip further for NFL season. But yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bloodline storyline has peaked or is at least at the peak right now, drawing wise.

I hope they do a Jey v Jimmy match in the coming weeks. They're not splitting and it'll obviously end with them double superkicking Roman but I want to see them have at least one singles match.
There's a few possibilities for upcoming matches:
Roman & Solo v Usos Roman w/Solo v Jimmy w/Jey Roman v Jimmy v Jey triple threat Roman v Jimmy v Jey v Solo 4 way Jimmy v Jey with Roman/Solo as referee/enforcer Roman v Jey Roman v Solo (I think this is way further down the line if it happens)
The first one I think is most likely to be the MITB match but I'm really not sure yet what they'll go with for Summerslam.

So Jimmy didn't want anyone trying to talk Jey into turning on Roman and breaking up the Bloodline but then he ends up being the one to superkick Roman.

I just rewatched last night's segment on the BT Sport Youtube channel. Thankfully they didn't edit out the holy shit chants after Jimmy face-palmed Roman like Fox did. The way he did it so aggressively almost felt more disrespectful to Roman than like a big violent beatdown would be. I'm still torn on what they do for MITB/Summerslam. I think it'll probably be the tag match for MITB but I wouldn't mind Roman v Jimmy there then Roman v Jey at Summerslam. Or maybe they do Roman v Jimmy as a rare Roman TV match. I know there's an MSG Smackdown coming up soon, maybe for that. It’s the time of the year. They’re still as hot, at least on Raw. I think I saw the demo increase for Raw year over year was larger in April and May than the previous months. I don't buy that it's the time of year. I just see evidence that we might have seen the peak if they don't find a new twist in the tale that gets the crowd invested like they were earlier this year. If the overnight rating (0.7 demo) holds up or gets better come Monday then last night was the highest rated Smackdown since 2020. For comparison the big Cena/Roman/KO/Sami tag episode did 0.64, the post-Rumble episode following the big Roman/Sami angle did 0.61, the post-Mania show did 0.66 and the draft episode did 0.67. I think Roman fighting the other Bloodline guys will be hot enough to keep ratings/ticket sales high. Assuming he's dropping the title at Wrestlemania 40 the Jan-Apr period will take care of itself and they have the next 2-3 PPVs covered with Jey/Jimmy. It's the Sep-Dec period I'm not sure what they'll do. Although that's probably only 2 PPVs anyway, they don't usually do December PPVs anymore and Survivor Series can be another war games match I guess. Not sure who'd team with Roman/Solo this year though.

Roman vs. Jey in front of an Omegle crowd that spent most shows fighting off the urge to change their webcam feed to a penis was a genuinely emotional match, I can't say enough how much I need them to face each other again.

I loved that line and the look he had on his face like part of him still believes he will fall in line but mostly he's shit scared and knows this is actually the time his gaslighting won't work. Roman cutting mini-promos off mic while he's walking to the back is becoming like its own genre. I loved his "I'm tired of being humble" one a few months back too.

The Usos and Solo have absolutely been elevated from this whole story. But I don't buy Jimmy or Jey as an actual threat to taking Romans title. Solo, possibly, but he has a long way to go still.

Roman’s gotta lose it at a WM, but if they build up Jey/Roman for a SS, it could be a fever-pitch scenario ala Sami Vs Roman where you could create a moment, but Roman will prbly retain like you said.

What do y'all think of the idea that Solo/Usos split off for good with the premise that Cody takes THE title while Jey takes Roman's "title"?
They don't have to be a group or anything but it makes sense to me. The finishing blow should be Jey anyways and it wouldn't lessen the eventual title change.

Have to say, I genuinely can't recall a storyline where they've been able to heat it up, it cools, then they somehow find a way to heat it up as much again like this one.
Like, I've been watching (intensely to begin with then mostly casually) for about 30 years now and I've seen some very hot angles in WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, and AEW...but not the longevity and the way it gets hot again like this one does.
I thought Cody losing at WM was the wrong way to go. And yet, some wacky way, Cody seems as popular with the crowds as ever and Roman's death-grip on the title still serves a major purpose. It's very unusual.
