I get why some folks may not love it but still think it's not a bad move.

I get why some folks may not love it but still think it's not a bad move. I also think WWE going to a major streaming service leaves more traditional channels for other companies like AEW which is better for the industry/the talent.

Looks like Sports Business Journal is predicting that Raw is going to be streamed on Amazon. While it kind of sucks that I would have to pay for another streaming service to watch Raw, atleast it is good for the wrestling business that AEW can stay on TBS Of all the streamers to sign with, Amazon is the best bet. Because it includes the free shipping deal, most people I talk to tend to hold on to Amazon year round rather then add it and drop it when new shows drop like most streamers But the problem is, they're increasing the ad free price, after increasing the price for Prime not long ago.

I get why some folks may not love it but still think it's not a bad move. Especially since it's not exactly like the choices are as broad for who might be interested. The WBD move seems like a total non-starter and NBC Universal is basically waiting on whether WBD themselves are going to ask for a reduced NBA package or not. Outside of another streamer, Amazon seems to be the best they'll get.

Oddly enough I was actually thinking of dropping Prime in a bit, given I don't really make a lot of purchases off Amazon anymore; can't blame them if Amazon is backing up the Brinks truck but this makes things pretty interesting on the cable front, too - I'm sure Raw will still be on a Monday, but does this change any traditional viewing patterns?

And? People with either pay it or they won’t. I don’t see anyone bringing up increases in cable costs right now? And Amazon offers much more for its $10 a month then just the streaming, making it a service less likely to experience drastic churn. Making it a safer bet to sign with. I mean, even with the increase, is Prime not the best streaming service in terms of value for dollar spent? Netflix and Crave in Canada are both $20 or more, Paramount and Disney are around $15, TSN and SportsNet streaming deals start at $15 or $20. If you’re gonna put half your eggs in a streaming basket, Amazon is probably your best bet to retain similar viewer engagement. Plus, they’d be a strong business partner when the Peacock/Netowkr deal expires as well EDIT: And Amazon apparently has 160 million plus subscribers in the US. That's a huge number

For me... Prime would be the first streaming service I would cut if it wasn't for the free shipping on orders.

I have Prime because my grandma has it but I virtually never use it, since their streaming UI is the worst thing humanity ever created and I don't buy things online much, so at least it'd give me a use for the thing.

Assuming this all ends up becoming true:
You're going to lose overall viewers moving to streaming from regular TV, but most of that loss is from the 50+ set less likely to have streaming services. Meanwhile the core demo will adapt and grow from an initial dip.
Besides, if Amazon does indeed land Raw, they're going to give WWE a f***ton of money since they have more money than God. Even if WWE loses viewers compared to USA, I doubt they care when counting all the money Amazon's going to give them. Prime Video is also less likely to lose subscribers compared to other streaming services because it's a part of the larger Amazon Prime service. So even if they're not watching it, they're still paying for it. Now Raw gives people something to watch weekly without off-seasons.

They are going to have a drop in viewership if they switch to Amazon. I'm not a big fan of Amazon myself. I'm tried of them sending important items in plastic sacks with no protection. I'm not impressed with their originals shows either.

And there had been talk earlier on that Raw and maybe Smackdown wouldn't necessarily stay on Monday and Friday respectively, right?

And there had been talk earlier on that Raw and maybe Smackdown wouldn't necessarily stay on Monday and Friday respectively, right? Yeah, Nick Khan said he was open to the idea, even if he said it in the "lack of real solid answer" sort of way. I think it'll end up staying on Monday because, as mentioned, the younger demo is more likely to find it at that time than the older but you also want to keep that consistent day wherever you end up.

Oh my gosh, now there’s absolutely no time constraints for Raw.
Gets ready for 30 minute overruns and almost 4 hour Raws
