I mean, ya they do it in a way with reunions and legend pops, but I mean like re-purposing brands like nWo or DX onto new factions. It would get a ratings bump and probably sell a bunch of merch, but at the same time its lazy booking.
Disney and WB are doing this like crazy with the MCU, the CW version of the DC universe, Flash with Batman, Sony with Spider-man, etc, etc
It's just such an easy money grab, that I just don't see them not doing it at one point.

Until Vince McMahon is in the ground they're going to be way more inclined to do fan disservice booking

Until Vince McMahon is in the ground they're going to be way more inclined to do fan disservice booking OHHHHHH GOT EM I mean, they’re kinda doing a bit of this already with Legado Del Fantasma being rebranded as the Latino World Order, but I’m not sure how having a permanent DX or nWo presence with a rotating cast would come off. It kinda sounds like New Japan to be honest, with their stable-based booking.

They should call them the New DX or the New New World Order

I read "fan service" and feared that booking would rely on who do online fans ship with each other...

Can't wait for that tag team dog collar match between Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn vs, Blair Davenport and Tatum Paxley where the losers have to make out in the middle of the ring.

Until Vince McMahon is in the ground they're going to be way more inclined to do fan disservice booking I won't deny there being fan service booking. We do get some interesting angles happening from time to time.
....but well, a good chunk of them end up being nothing more than a mirage.

WWE? Fan service?
Most of the time they seem to go out of their way to make the fans angry more than pleasing them.

Too bad, you're getting a Charlotte vs. Bianca Belair title match, and you'll like it!" What if someone likes the idea of Flair v Belair as a match? Are they just meant to shut up and f*** off then? I needed to be blunt to make the point a lot of fantasy booking is still, at the end of the day, the individual singular fan projecting what they want to see, and the implication being that everyone else will like it because I, the individual, like it. What if some fans don’t like it? Are they therefore not being listened to?

At the expense of two other women who haven't been established as much, I personally feel it would be a questionable decision. A Belair and Charlotte feud doesn't need the title.

At the expense of two other women who haven't been established as much, I personally feel it would be a questionable decision. A Belair and Charlotte feud doesn't need the title. I wasn’t really trying to comment on the specific matchups, I was hoping to kind of talk about the philosophy of fantasy booking as a whole. Like, it’s something I myself don’t really do anymore because… OK, we’re very wrapped up in the idea of “the fans” being this singular entity with one voice that the promotion does or doesn’t listen to. I am only the individual, I can only give you ideas based on what I want to see. If my ideas don’t match up with what “the fans” want to see, would I therefore be not listening to them? Logically, yes, right? It’s why I tend to lean towards the more analytical and statistical side of things with wrestling these days if I want to put ideas into the void. I suppose the bigger question is what makes it such a specifically WWE thing? Other promotions book heels to win and be strong, have talents go on hot streaks that went unfulfilled and have pet projects get more TV time than others for less reactions than others. It has to specifically be Vince and his lizard brain right? No other promotions have that.

this sounds like stuff they did in the 90s with "the New Rockers" "The New Blackjacks" "The New Midnight Express" if you slap new in front of something with a legacy it never works out
