Really unfortunate, he was definitely a legend.
I am not going to pretend I am the biggest fan of John Romita Jr.'s work, generally speaking, but I absolutely do feel for him in this time. It's got to be difficult.

Absolute legend of an artist who gave us some of the most iconic art in comics history. RIP John.

Damn RIP to JR Sr.
He has to have been one of the last surviving Golden Age artists right? (I know most of his work was silver age... but still)

RIP to a true comic legend. One of the definitive Spider-Man artists.

A fantastic story teller.
His Spider-Man is the stuff I grew up with, what I imagine when I think of Marvel Comics' greatest era.
Rest in peace, sir.

What a king, and the best thing is he never stopped working. He still did the occasional variant piece for anniversary or milestone issues well into his advanced years along with commissions.
Romita Jr is hit or miss these days, but he's earned his place too for the most part, and like his dad, he's a man that is usually beaming with optimism, so to see him hurt is always a bummer. There's not a lot of nice guys at Marvel these days, but Romita was one of the good ones.
