If Matvei Michkov is still available at the 5th pick, the Rangers will trade Alexis Lafreniere to Montreal for the pick.

Flames also traded Tyler Toffoli to the Devils for Yegor Sharangovich and the 80th pick in the Draft.

The usual suspects cheer this but the league mandates every piece of equipment, up to and including the knob on your stick. The only proper response is “this your uniform/equipment and you’re wearing it or you’re suspended”. This isn’t a personal choice issue. Trying showing up at your Burger King job going “Naw, not into that. I’ll be wearing my Air Supply tshirt and hot pants”. |

My Kings yesterday picked up Dubois from the Jets. And also extended him for 8 years.
Why Rob Blake would bring in someone who was a locker room cancer and extend him for 8 years to boot, I have no idea. And also send Gabe Villardi to Winnipeg as well.
I'm not optimistic about this trade at all right now.

Until he waives it to f*** off. Maybe he will eventually do that. As of right now, I'm not happy about this trade. The Kings need a starting goaltender in order to be a true Cup contender. And bringing in a locker room cancer is not a good strategy. |

That David Kämpf extension....oof. I don't like that at all. Not a fan of the Leafs going right off the board to select Easton Cowan in the first round either.
Also, Ryan Reaves on a multi-year deal to the Leafs seems likely.

So my Kings have what amounts to three backup goalies on the roster now. I guess Rob Blake expects this team to score 5-6 goals every game in order to win.

They looked deep within themselves, looked over the roster and decided what needed to be done was fire Dubas and sign f***ing Ryan Reaves. |

Lots of contracts given out with longer terms but smaller annual values. Teams clearly looking ahead to the cap rising over the next couple of years; there were definitely a few that were absolutely baffling, but in the context of, say, $3-$4 million a year not being as onerous in the next few years, it might work out around the league.
