I honestly felt bad when I saw Pete DeBoer consoling Zach Parise on the handshake line; those guys should've won it all in 2012 with the Devils, but so it goes. Remember reading last year that when the Isles lost that Parise just sat at his locker staring out into nothing, the realization that his time is pretty much up sinking in, and now this is really it for him. Curious how much Trouba nonsense there'll be in a series where Tkachuk might tear his limbs out. Gotta see if he breaks out a plancha this series. |

Ideally this series goes like their last regular series game where they went out there and thrashed Edmonton from bell to bell. They seem hungry to win and I’m not about to count them out though. Thursday!

He's not McDavid or MacKinnon or Matthews or Bedard. He's really good though. He's maybe Jonathan Toews-esque in terms of production. Not a superstar, but a good 1C. Honestly, the Sharks have set themselves up well. For a team that didn't have a great prospect pool, they had a phenomenal draft last year. Smith is a good center, Musty was a steal, and I've heard nothing but good things about Halttunen. This year they have picks 1 and 14 and then pick again twice in the top 10 of round 2. So you get two picks in the Tier 1 and two picks in the 2nd/3rd tier. They're in perfect spots in each round right before a drop-off in talent. |

The own goal was pretty funny last night. It was good to see Florida not pull a Carolina where they out play the Rangers most of the game but lose because of giving up some soft goals.

Good win last night. Ended Draisaitl’s point streak and rendered McDavid largely ineffective. Pete DeBoer and the guys did well in adapting to Vegas and Colorado throughout those series, hopefully they can do the same here. Been some flat play in these two games but maybe Hintz coming back (hopefully) can be be a good burst of energy for them. It’s only the WCF after all  After a month of 9pm games I’m kind of envious of that 2pm start time for today’s game. At least the conference finals have been reasonably timed. |
