This team y'all. Thank the gods for the All-Star break, my blood pressure could use it! Not sure I've ever seen that call at the end of regulation. Would be some BS to lose on that. That’s the rule apparently, fair or not Would have been frustrating as hell to go out like that.

Just about the entire Metro besides Washington wins coming out of the break.
In happy Devils news, Jack Hughes is apparently alive and nearly ready to return.

Oettinger‘s play this season has been a topic of debate but he definitely looked like an All-Star with those 47 saves last night. Hoping that’s a good sign, especially since they’re in Toronto tonight and they tend to have Dallas’ number.
EDIT:

So not only are the Blackhawks awarded with Bedard, but they are also now awarded with yet another Winter Classic coming up next season. What a disgrace.

Got gifted a four minute power play and immediately had to be bailed out by Oettinger 💀 Dude’s earned those All-Star stripes since the return from break.
Tried giving that one away but a win is a win!

Got a free ticket from a friend to go to the Meadowlands last night, and hooooo doggie did it get cold after a bit. I had workout leggings on under my pants, two pairs of socks on, and about four layers on under my jersey, and it was still getting rough sitting there by the time we got to the second period. Probably didn't help that my seat was in the next to last row in the stadium (right by center ice, though!), but I very much understood why my hates-the-cold girlfriend didn't feel like taking a chance on that.
Still, it was nothing compared with the Rangers/Devils game at Yankee Stadium around 10 years ago; I've looked it up, and that ended up being one of the coldest January days on record, and it definitely wasn't on that level.
The "park stage" setup was kind of weird, and the ice surface for these outdoor games is almost always awful, but damned if you don't end up getting a thrill out of hearing you're part of a 70,000-person crowd for live hockey.
ETA: Oh, and if you didn't catch it, during the day when the teams first entered the stadium they had the Flyers dressed as Rocky in his grey training sweats and the Devils dressed pretty much like Sopranos characters. Are the Rangers and Islanders going to do something like that?

God damn what a game. Wish I decided to buy a ticket. But getting out of Metlife is longer than the game itself.

The Islanders need to trade their goalie after the season, he stinks. 5 goals should be enough to win, I am sorry but 5 goals should be enough to win, and when you score 5 goals and lose, it is no one's fault but the goalie, he has got to go.

Cool. Plenty of teams would love Sorokin. The ice looked weird. Rangers struggled defensively too. I'd blame the L on Isles who drew penalties late.

Are the Rangers and Islanders going to do something like that? They dressed in special NYPD/FDNY uniforms. So you went to last night's game? Still in the parking lot I gather lol?

Dude, Sorokin is one of the only good goalies in the entire league, and a major reason the Islanders are even sniffing a wild card spot. Read up on this stuff first before throwing out hot takes, I'm begging you. Got a free ticket from a friend to go to the Meadowlands last night, and hooooo doggie did it get cold after a bit. Are the Rangers and Islanders going to do something like that? They dressed in special NYPD/FDNY uniforms. So you went to last night's game? Still in the parking lot I gather lol? Hell no, I've lived in north Jersey long enough to know what driving to the Meadowlands for a stadium event turns into; besides, I only got out of work nearby around 6, and just driving to get into the lot was already a nightmare. Instead, I drove down to Secaucus Junction, parked in a lot there, and rode the train from the station to the stadium; also left the game when there were about 4 minutes left on the clock to make sure I caught the train back to the station, no muss no fuss. I remember reading how bad waiting for those trains was for people the last time East Rutherford had Wrestlemania, but I had zero complaints on that last night...well, ok, one complaint, I paid $4.50 for round trip fare and nobody bothered to check my tickets, so that was money needlessly spent. Just have to add, though, @#$% ESPN for their presentation of last night's game; they literally opened up with a video highlighting Mark @#$%ing Messier and the '94 Rangers Meadowlands guarantee, along with the Eagles/Giants Miracle at the Meadowlands. At least the latter included a Philly vs. NJ/NY connection, but good Lord, not a single mention of, oh, I don't know, the Devils winning multiple Stanley Cups at the Meadowlands, or the pretty storied playoff rivalry between the Devils and Flyers since the 1990s? It's as if hockey froze in ice after the 1994 season for most of the national media, good luck getting them to ever discuss anything else.

Yeah, they could've at least shown Scott Stevens' infamous hit on Eric Lindros to highlight the rivalry between the Devils and Flyers. It basically ended Lindros' career. Guess it's to be expected from the national media when they have to cover a team in the NYC metro that isn't the Rags.
