Red Wings streak is over, but it's okay. THEY'LL JUST START A NEW ONE.

The Sharks definitely didn’t look like one of the worst teams in the league last night! Good, tough game and great performance by Magnus Chrona. Wouldn’t have bet on Jamie Benn being the one to save the day but🫡

Lindy Ruff's been fired as Devils head coach.
Not sure how I feel about it. Not his fault that all of the Devils' best players have serious injuries and their goalie situation is garbage.

Didn’t get to catch last night because my work schedule doesn’t get along with West Coast games but I missed a great comeback thanks to the youngsters. Wyatt Johnston gets his first hat trick as he and Stanky get it done in the third, future is bright with those youngins around. Dropping 6 goals to the Sharks isn’t ideal but a win is a win 😏
In short boo pacific time zone yay Stars victory.

The San Jose Sharks now have both parts of last year's New Jersey Devils goalie tandem.

The San Jose Sharks now have both parts of last year's New Jersey Devils goalie tandem. Just saw Kevin Weekes tweet that after I posted that. Devils' goalie situation is dire, so I'm glad to see them make some moves to address it to at least try to stop the bleeding. Not that Kahkonen or Allen are exactly Marty Brodeur this year, but you have to do something to at least try to make it better in the short term. Guessing either Schmid or Daws were also traded and it hasn't come through yet or one's heading back to Utica.

I'm guessing it's Kahkonen/Allen with the big club the rest of the way, Akira/Nico to Utica. Kahkonen walks after this year, Vitek's money is off the books, frees up around $3.4 million for the Devils to put toward a real starter while Allen sticks around as a backup (seen some Habs fans saying his underlying stats are better than his GAA...or at least notably better than what the Devils have largely gotten this season). Getting that extra cap room, a new backup, and a couple of picks for Toffoli isn't a terrible haul given how south things went for this club this year. Pressure's on to get something legit done this offseason regarding a real starter in net, but the extra money helps, as should the extra picks in case they're needed in a trade. Hate that it took this long to get something done, but the names and dollar values involved likely meant GMs were waiting things out for the best deals possible, and most never materialized.

I think they need a better veteran presence on defense, too. That unit completely fell apart with Dougie gone. Not as much an obvious problem as goal, but still an area of concern.

So how we feeling about the moves made by your teams at the trade deadline? I'm torn on how I feel about Vegas and their moves. Sure I like the players and they're probably just stashing Hertl on Il till the playoffs because they have no way to fit him in cap wise this season. But I'm seeing Vegas trade all these picks and prospects and I just think about how bad the cap hell they're in and how once this window shuts its gonna be a rough rebuild

They overdelivered the first year and have been mortgaging their future ever since. They were first to market in Vegas, and they're going to get fans committed to them by forming that bond with competitive teams the first like 6/7 years. But yeah, they're going to be ASS for a few years. Any future they have is out the window as soon as they draft them. Which is funny, because they're actually pretty good at drafting. Edstrom is a great prospect and that was with the last pick in round 1.

The Golden Knights and Avs: Got some needed defense so f*** it let's get it. I hated Sakic and the Avs way back when I was a kid, and I hate them now. Great pivot from them to turn Byram into Mitts, which is exactly the type of 2C they needed. Their only weakness is goalie now.

I remember when it was supposed to be a 6 year plan to make the playoffs, and now look at them cup winners and a heel to all other teams. The future however is gonna suck but I have faith the Vegas locals will continue to support the team even when their ass because it's our team they didn't relocate or use us a bargaining chip to get a better stadium. Plus after the 2017 mass shooting the team helped the city heal and rally back. That first season was a thing of beauty and I'll always be grateful to have been there to experience it. So I don't worry that they'll be forgotten, Id just like another cup or two before the bill finally comes due

Wild pulled their goalie in OT and wound up getting the win.
According to the rules, if they allowed the empty net goal they would have forfeited the point that comes with making it to OT. Bold, but it paid off!

Bold, but it paid off! You don't see a lot of game-changing strats in hockey anymore but that will change things for sure. Patrick Roy will be all over this.

Rempe’s fighting ways already getting him put in time-out.

Rempe’s fighting ways already getting him put in time-out. I never heard of Rempe before, but I saw most of the game last night and that guy smelled like Matt Cooke. Real obvious elbowing to the head and then chirps the bench on his way out. Total AHL dirtbag.

Rookie whose schtick has basically become “tall guy who fights a lot.” Spent a good chunk of his 10 games for the Rangers in the penalty box. Some say bad for the sport, some say can be good for bringing interest. Depends on what you think of the fighting I suppose.
