It was one that was mildly popular in the USA. In the 1990s. I want to say 1993 or somewhere there about. I think it was a solo artist and he was definitely of some sort of South Asian ethnicity. I want to say Indian or Pakistani.
I remember I even watched a short documentary in college that features him. He talked about how song was a cross over hit. I want to say it was something like “Bhangra Rock” or ““Bhangra Rap” but Google pops up with nothing but recent stuff.
The guy had a deep voice and the song was very poppy. It definitely had a music video that was featured on MTV. I want to say the female background singers wore green, maybe cheerleader outfits. It also was featured in at least one movie comedy trailer when it got to the more lively parts. I thought it might have been Dumb and Dumber, but nope. That trailer used Electric Avenue.
Anyway, any help with all these details?

Perfect! Yeah, thinking of that was giving me a headache. Thanks so much! I guess if anyone else can’t quite think of a song name they have stuck in their head they can use this thread for that. Otherwise we’ll just let this thread fade away
