So two episodes in I think we can see there's a heavy focus on Collision to not feel like other AEW programming which is good because it needed to be something different, but I find it interesting how WWE it feels. -Opening on a twenty minute promo segment -The overall graphic and show aesthetic looks right out of 2013 Raw -WWE style shot of outside the arena -WWE style camera work overall -DQ finishes -A lot of the talent that was noted to be frustrated with AEW style are here -The main character is a polarizing "Love him or hate him" figure that's still a babyface in the overall narrative that gets loud boos and cheers It seems like such an odd choice for AEW to try and appeal to people who don't like AEW it seems like lol. It feels like this show is trying to be for WWE fans and J** C******* fans and that's just WEIRD. As we go along I really am hoping we get a firm brand split cuz this show feels more and more like it's in another realm than Dynamite/Rampage. (weekly post for my hope that they just use the ROH belts + TNT title on Collision and the rest on Dynamite) I also couldn't help but wonder tonight how this would have gone earlier if they gave Cody & his Codyverse their own WWE style show like this.

The action seems to be a lot more “grounded” and less “flippy” for lack of a better term.
Which again, might be to appeal to a demographic of the fans that tie up with that old podcasters views.
I’m in the same boat: Good that it’s different. But it is weird lol.

I have enjoyed it more than Dynamite the past couple of weeks and I did like the past couple of Dynamites as well. I don't think it's down to it being more 'WWE style', because to be honest Dynamite isn't a million miles away from feeling like a WWE-style show either. I just think that Collision has felt more carefully paced and structured, so far, and that works better for me as a viewer. Some episodes of Dynamite can just feel like total overbooked chaos to me, like they've been written by someone who is trying to cram a thousand things into two hours, who has a massive surplus of people that they want to feature and angles they want to book but doesn't quite know how to fit them all in to one 2-hour show. I haven't gotten that feeling from Collision yet, it has come across like a more focused show IMO. I'm enjoying both shows anyway and I hope they continue to stand out from one another.

I wouldn't say it's straight up WWE style, like the DQ finish thing can work ok like tonight..but when you overdo it like WWE you literally expect it every time one name faces another name. Sometimes it's cool to lose clean, but of course you need both in moderation.
I just think there's a tighter focus on talent imo, like nothing's overbooked and stuff feels simpler.

You could say Collision is the Pepsi to Dynamite's Coke.
(insert Tony Cocaine joke here)

It’s the show that will often feature solo Brody King stomping to the ring while God’s Hate rattles the in house PA speakers so….yeah it’s gonna be hard hitting. Just like Brody “MORE VIOLENCE!” King likes it

I think it's still way too early to call this, but it does feel different enough from Dynamite, and honestly I'm enjoying it. They didn't need another Dynamite, they needed another show, and they've put the effort in on making each feel unique

From the 2 shows so far, yes it absolutely feels different from Dynamite and honestly? I'm okay with that. It allows for different people to really show off and stand out... and honestly the only thing from the 2 shows so far that didn't seem to click was whatever that ending to Andrade/Brody was

Probably too early to say with some of the differences, the DQ for example was fine for that match as you don't want Andrade running through HOB and equally don't want him losing in his second week back, but there's no real signs yet that we'll see it regularly. I'm not sure WWE fans even like the DQ finishes, can't see the benefit in having more of those as if it would entice anybody in.
It feels very fresh and totally different to Dynamite, so some of the similarities to WWE are probably coincidences rather than trying to attract people who don't like AEW, by doing things Dynamite doesn't they'll inevitably do some things WWE do.
Either way I like things like the shot of the building outside, as long as they don't start doing the millions of things I don't like that WWE did/do it's fine by me

It feels like the early Dynamites imo, things are sort of establishing themselves while other stuff is being experimented with.
Also..hate that Punk is the frontrunner of this and the circumstances this show came about,, but I do feel it was inevitable with all of this talent TK signed with only two hours of tv time to go around. A focus on different dudes and girls isn’t necessarily a bad thing, nor is giving more guys and girls a place to shine.

If it’s meant to stick around at all .

The last couple of weeks of Rampage have felt more experimental. Sort of like NXT 2.0 but without developmental wrestlers.

Idk if it feels that much different (I preface this by acknowledging I am not an avid AEW watcher) other than it feeling a bit looser creatively.

Don't get me wrong but I find it too early, too soon to say the show has a WWE flavour to it, specially with only two shows so far. The first point... to be fair, it isn't something new considering MJF and CM Punk opened Dynamite months ago in a long heated promo segment before Punk's match against Q.T. Marshall. To be honest, I always think TK always come up with something different every here and then. I mean, he has his usual booking tactics but at the same time, he doesn't mind trying to come up with something unusual.

I wouldn't say it feels like WWE but it definitely feels different from Dynamite which is cool.
Rampage should be the show for the more wacky stuff

So there is one thing to consider here with it not feeling really "WWE" entirely but it does feel different, and that's Danielson being a co-booker
Idk how much of a hand he's already had in the first two weeks, but someone having more equal power to book matches and segments as Tony might be a big reason the show has a different feel and structure to it
It's not a bad feel or structure, but it definitely does feel different, and as I said that's good. They didn't need "Dynamite 2 but lesser than it", that's where Thunder ran into major issues. Collision hasn't felt like it's wasted anyone's time and is starting to develop its own stuff, and that's important, that's what it needs to do to succeed, and I hope it can keep it up.
