Seth was all in his character. I came out of that thinking that a Seth Rollins/Rhyno tag team would actually rule. Also, props to Impact for doing their own Southpaw take, realizing WWE didn't have the trademark over either Frank or Pelvis Wesley and just have Rhyno and Heath show up as them both basically acting like they signed from the other territory. Funny stuff. I'm legitimately mad we never got season 3. I was looking up if anyone said anything and Fandango was on Rene Dupree's podcast last year basically saying as soon as they filmed the teaser, most of the talent involved and the entire digital department were fired so it basically ended. I don't even care if it was going to be worse than the first two, I miss the hell out of it.

That's what I figured since rather quickly after they aired the teaser, the last massive lay off happened... and Fandango who was the star of the teaser was released.

To make me laugh, and it succeeded.
That first season was deep fried gold in so many ways.

There's no way Vince had anything to do with an affectionate parody of territory era studio wrestling, because he's likely barely ever watched territory era studio wrestling.

It was a lot of fun for the sake of fun and IIRC, the original idea was Gallows and Anderson's brainchild before they got everyone else on board. Makes sense, given Tex/Sex Ferguson was a character Gallows had been doing for years as a joke, if I recall.

Gallows was far more entertaining as Tex/Sex Ferguson than as himself most of the time.

Given how much it pissed all over the territory era, he 100% was involved. f*** Southpaw, it was the type of unfunny, insulting bullshit that Vince loves to trash the old days with.

Cena's comedic timing with the non sequiturs peppered throughout Southpaw was amazing.
