I've heard rumors that WWE might be interested in doing a NXT/Impact show next year. If true, could they be letting Impact borrow EY for the show? Zero chance this happens. WWE isn't going to elevate their competition, and Impact isn't going to jeopardize the AEW and NJPW relationships.

I mean they had Mickie in the Rumble last year coming out announced as the Impact women's champion WWE needed talent to fill out the Rumble, and she was someone they knew would get a pop. Letting her come out with the Impact belt seems like a small ask when the majority of the people watching are going to say "the what champion?" That's a far cry from co-promoting a show, where the message to the audience is very clearly that these guys are on the same level.

Omega had already been Impact Champion at this point and the Impact/NJPW reconciliation was already well under way. I don't think there would be any issues from it from Impact's side, although I agree that I don't know what WWE would gain from a cross-promotional show.

Credit: PW Insider Eric Young re-signed with WWE in October 2022 after finishing up with Impact Wrestling. However, it's looking like he may have been released as {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER} he was spotted this afternoon in Detroit, MI, the site of Saturday's Slammiversary PPV. There is speculation today that he could be Scott D'Amore's mystery partner at the show. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}They gotta stop writing the guys out via murder if they’re gonna eventually come back. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: that is now my favorite wrestling related cliche of all time for sheer WTF lol CLICK TO SHOW}

I'll never get tired of thinking about HHH hiring Eric Young twice, and doing it in secret the second time so no one would ever know. Just keeping him on retainer so he could slip out of meetings to take pictures of himself pointing to EY to get that high.

I was sure EY was going to portray Ramblin Rabbit in the new Firefly Funhouse Stable...
So much for that ever happening.

Fightful is reporting that Eric requested his release in April after the merger between UFC/WWE was announced and it was granted - hence why he can start working elsewhere now. They said that he requested his release because he didn't want to work with Vince.

Serious question from someone who doesn't watch or follow WWE's weekly TV shows. What has EY done since returning to WWE? Is EY on any of those shows, working backstage? What was the point of rehiring him?

Being released so many times has to be taking a toll on this guy's sanity. I doubt anything took a bigger toll on his sanity than the way Sanity was used on the main roster.

They said that he requested his release because he didn't want to work with Vince. I dont think anyone can blame him if that's true. while vince has been at the forefront of two of wrestling's boom periods he's shown time and time again that he doesn't have it in him anymore to do it a third time and the mystique of his weirdness just being weirdness, the rumours of him being a sex pest are no longer rumours.

What was the point of rehiring him? By all reports, he did absolutely nothing in this latest WWE run other than a single house show I think?
