The tv edit of Showgirks literally had cartoon clothes drawn on during the topless scenes Plus some of the worst dubbing in existence. On a similar note, sone of the edits made to the old e blush dub of sailor moon are bloody binaries, particularly when they started referring to gay characters as “cousins.” The edits to Voltron to make it less violent were obvious even to my early boyhood self; I was amused to find out not long ago that they weren’t working with translated scripts, the producers for the US dub watched the Japanese version and just winged it.

Did anybody mention the "Find Me In The Alps" line from The Big Lebowski?

In the late-1990s, like 1999 to 2000, a lot of censors were a little more lax and implemented the words "ass" in the TV cuts. Some have also used the word "bitch" in there. However, when watching TV cuts from earlier than or even later and still censored "ass" and such, it was funny to hear. I watched "Above the Rim" today and I remembered the first time I watched it was back in 2001 when it aired on TBS. I know it was the same TV cut that aired earlier than that, so the censors were still intact. It was funny to hear the dubbed line "ten cent butt" when you could read the actress's lips as she actually said "ten cent ass."
I also recall watching "Menace II Society" on a local channel and for some reason, I was able to pinpoint a censor anytime any variation of MF was used. It sounded ridiculous. Yet, for some reason the N-word was kept in that version.
