Seeing the Dom thread and seeing him as a draw for NXT last night.
It made me think, does the WWE unofficially have a 4 pillars of young talent that is the future of the company?
They pushed Theory like he was one, but he's coming off really flat.
Could Grayson Waller be one? Carmelo Hayes another? Solo Sikoa? Is Dominik in this group?
The female side is a lot easier seeing who their four could be starting with Roxanne, Cora, Thea and Tiffany Stratton for the NXT side.

No because there is no way of knowing who is gonna catch on with the audience and who will just not click especially long term.
Or who is hot right now might just cool off big time once their roles change , IMO too many variables to be declaring anyone a future pillar...I mean everyone has their own hopes and predictions but can't possibly be set in stone especially those in NXT right now.

i would put Bron on the list. they hope Theory will become one. Carmelo probably. how about Regal's kid whose name escapes me- charlie dempsey or something like that?
i think Dom turning into what he's become caught everyone completely by surprise in the wwe as well. age-wise he would fit though

The whole idea of “pillars” or whatever is ridiculous anyways, anyone can catch on at anytime for any reason and at the same time, anyone who’s labeled the future or a “pillar” could not catch on and fall flat for any reason aswell. Let wrestlers get over organically instead of having a stupid “he/she is the future” or “pillar” label behind them

Mysterio is over because he's f***ing shit and he's doing a comedy gimmick which largely revolves around "what if he got pegged lol" as a gag. The idea of him as a "pillar" (which was a joke when AEW used it and is a joke here, none of these people compare to Kenta Kobashi) is laughable. Have that guy cut a serious promo. Have him in a main event match. He's a mid carder. Man can't even do a 619 without it looking like shit

The difference is AEW is a relatively new company so their pillars are guys and girls that have been since day one while NXT has proven being over there doesn't mean being popular on the main roster, plus WWE is pretty fickle on who they push and who they don't

The whole Pillars concept kind of sucked and centering TV time around it was a bad idea, but as far as a new promotion taking four young guys getting their first national exposure and going "These are our long-term projects, build around them they're our future", it makes internal sense. But also wrestling's history but especially WWE's of the last few decades, is littered with guys who were supposed to be the future and ended up bombing big time. WWE's kind of shackled to creating from the ground up, and those are guys you just can't control for, and someone like Roman can be given try after try because he has the real talent and they just had to use it right, but some guys get that label and they don't have a tenth of what Roman has.
I think the only real difference is that WWE's talk is in the writer's room and in the talent relations department, so we don't see it. AEW simply put it on TV.

Not at the moment.
They have had them in the past… most recently the Shield.
Or you can see this on the IC title picture from back in the day.
Jericho, Angle, and Benoit for example.

imo wrestling fans need to get away from the idea of 'anointing' future stars and just let it happen organically. Trying to transpose a concept like this on to any 4 young guys in ANY company is just setting them up to fail.

His promos are some of the most embarassing things I've ever seen. That time he opened raw vs Rey in a promo segment, he did nothing but stumble over his words and came across as a f***ing halfwit

I think he’s awkward but cuts pretty good promos for his character type, and portrays his character excellently. His character is not a serious tough guy heel.

Idk about "Pillars" but if Carmelo Hayes and Garyson Waller aren't a big part of WWE's future plans I'm gonna be absolutely dumbfounded.

I always found AEW's insistence of these are the Pillars really kinda forced. But yeah... the wWE is littered with "next big things that floundered" even those that eventually made it usually didn't make it in the way they wanted them to. Like Orton, who is always over even when he doesnt give a shit... but he is nowhere near the massive crossover star they wanted him to be and tried ot position him as when he first broke in.

Based on the success of Drew and Cody, it's going to involve folks who are going to be let go and brought back.
