TIL I have not eating cake, in common with Vince McMahon.
“f*** a goat” and “ball or nothing” are incredible. Also, Russo’s Russo, but putting the belt on RVD had the potential of not being the worst idea ever. Even with what eventually happened, no guarantee it would have happened at that exact time.

Undertaker made Brian write a 2000 word essay on why he loves the business. Is this the one instance where Undertaker actually took someone to school?

There was a story from early in his book about what he had as an outgoing message on his answering machine that forced me to put the book down because the mental image had me laughing too hard.

In a shockingly high number of anecdotes, Taker sounds like a sociopath. While making a grown ass man who already has the job write an essay is beyond stupid, it's at least one of the tamer hazing things that has happened. Which still isn't great...but its....something?

Supposably the original idea for the title split in 2002 was the WWE title staying on Smackdown with Brock and the IC title, by virtue of having the Euro and Hardcore titles unified with it would be elevated to World title status. With RVD as champ while a face HHH feuded with the nWo. But when Nash went down and blew up those plans they pivoted to H as top heel and brought back Big Gold. Either because H wanted to be 80s Flair or he felt the IC title was beneath him. Or both.

I believe they had good intentions to try and elevate dudes with Trips at the top ..but we got what we got. RVD as champ at that time and Trips feuding with the nWo sounds incredible in comparison though. Dangitt Nash.

Back around 2010ish, I was looking for a new job and applied at Macy's just for a regular stocking position in the local mall. I got a call back and went for an interview. After the interview the hiring guy said that I got the job, and said he just had to get some paperwork for me to fill out. He came back like 10 minutes later saying the computers were down. Asked if I could come back tomorrow, I said sure no problem. As I was leaving he said in the meantime I should do a history look up if Macy's and it's history and write down some notes. So we could do some quick quizzing when I come back....I did not go back.

I always love hearing about stories about losers like the Undertaker swinging their dicks backstage to compensate for the fact that have no actual power or respect in the real world, and it eats them up.

Is this the reason when cake appears on WWE it gets thrown on someone or someone’s faces ends up in it? So Vince doesn’t have to eat it?

It was decided that Hornswoggle should be the “anonymous gm” after he gave a great impassioned promo about how people treat him as a little person. Brian thought Swoggle being the serious gm getting back at wrestlers he treated him poorly would be great after that. But the day they were trying to shoot vignettes for it, Swoggle couldn’t pull it off so Vince decided to just have him come out from under the ring and bite people on the ass.

It led to them making me pancakes and then telling me about how Perkins started. There was no quiz but many pancakes.

Heyman is a monumental POS, but he’s also very charming and can make you feel like he’s on your side and a good guy even while burying you to whoever is in charge that day with an almost certainty. Taker giving out homework like a middle school teacher, knowing damn well he didn’t read that shit. That early 2000s time period had to be brutal for a newcomer to WWE, even veterans coming from WCW weren't safe. You had Taker as the head "locker room leader" while the dirty work was done by Bradshaw, Holly, Eddie and Benoit.

So we just automatically believe what Gerwitz writes about these people? I’m not saying we should but I also struggle to get what he’d get out of lying about things. WWE: Gerwitz, we don’t like what you wrote about us even though you probably got it legally approved by us beforehand and such, you’re not allowed back in our company again for work. Gerwitz: Oh. Ok. *hangs up and goes back to working in Seven Pounds Productions and working with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on projects*

Who better to teach someone than phantom hands McMahon. Shane teaching: “No! It’s jab, jab, gut punch flurry, shimmy, jab, jab! Not jab, jab, shimmy, gut punch flurry, jab, jab!”
